Fourteen Tigers Named to All-ACC Academic Team

CLEMSON, S.C. – Following their success in the classroom, 14 Tigers have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team for women’s soccer as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.  With 14 honorees, this marks the second-highest amount in program history. Last season, Clemson set a new program-record with 15.  Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. The athletic requirement for student-athletes is to have played in at least 50 percent of competition. Megan Bornkamp, Hal Hershfelt and Caroline Conti all picked up their fourth All-ACC Academic honor as Clemson was the only school in the conference to have three athletes earn the honor for the fourth time in their career. Bornkamp and Conti were also named to the 2023 Academic All-District list.  Renee Lyles earned her third All-ACC Academic Honor, while freshman’s Dani Davis an

Clemson Outlasts Georgia in PK Shootout to Advance to Elite Eight

CLEMSON, S.C. – Megan Bornkamp netted the equalizer in the game’s 88th minute and Halle Mackiewicz recorded a clutch penalty save and No. 1 seed Clemson women’s soccer advanced past Georgia, 1-1 (5-3 PK) to earn a spot in the Elite Eight for the sixth time in school history and first time since 2020.“I think you saw two very good teams today and this is what the NCAA Tournament is all about,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. “We knew Georgia was going to be a formidable opponent and I thought we played really well today. This game is about taking chances, great response from our team with coinciding a goal so late and you just saw what the Clemson Tigers are all about. They dug down, they never gave up, reached deep inside and found a way to make it happen. I’m just impressed with our kids' resiliency and the fact that they wanted to win, they wanted to advance and sometimes you have to do whatever it takes.”Both teams started the match off strong as the Tigers and

Clemson Advances to Third Round of NCAA Tournament

CLEMSON, S.C. – Behind two first half goals, No. 1 seed Clemson women’s soccer downed No. 8 seed Columbia, 2-1, on Friday night in front of 1,785 fans at Historic Riggs Field. With the win, the Tigers have earned a spot in the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2020.“We were very dominant in the first half and came away with two goals, we played really well and kept the pressure on Columbia,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. “This the NCAA Tournament, we are not playing weak teams, these are good teams so credit to Columbia for resiliency. We had the lead and we kept our composure. These kinds of things happen when you get in these knock-out competitions and the kids are not invincible to do it so sometimes you have to handle a little bit of adversity and all these games have it. I liked the fact that we passed the test, liked the fact that we dominated statistically and we were, for the most part, in control.”The Tigers started the match off strong

Clemson Tigers Advance To ACC Championship

CARY, N.C. – Behind two second-half goals, seventh-ranked Clemson women’s soccer downed ninth-ranked Notre Dame, 3-2, in the first of two semifinal games at the 2023 Ally ACC Women’s Soccer Championship. The win moves the Tigers into their first ACC Championship game since 2002.  “We have great respect for Notre Dame, it’s always a hard, competitive game. We just felt that the last time out, we didn’t really do a true showing of who we were and we felt we could come out tonight and show people what we are capable of doing all season and being consistent with our play and I thought the first 30 minutes of that game was spectacular,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. “Whoever we end up playing in the final, it’s going to be a tough game and they are playing a game as well. This team would tell you, last year we were a very good team but we underachieved, we didn’t do what we thought we were capable of so credit to these guys and our leadership group for making the com
