CLEMSON, S.C. – Following their success in the classroom, 14 Tigers have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team for women’s soccer as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. With 14 honorees, this marks the second-highest amount in program history. Last season, Clemson set a new program-record with 15. Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. The athletic requirement for student-athletes is to have played in at least 50 percent of competition. Megan Bornkamp, Hal Hershfelt and Caroline Conti all picked up their fourth All-ACC Academic honor as Clemson was the only school in the conference to have three athletes earn the honor for the fourth time in their career. Bornkamp and Conti were also named to the 2023 Academic All-District list. Renee Lyles earned her third All-ACC Academic Honor, while freshman’s Dani Davis an
CLEMSON, S.C. – Megan Bornkamp netted the equalizer in the game’s 88th minute and Halle Mackiewicz recorded a clutch penalty save and No. 1 seed Clemson women’s soccer advanced past Georgia, 1-1 (5-3 PK) to earn a spot in the Elite Eight for the sixth time in school history and first time since 2020.“I think you saw two very good teams today and this is what the NCAA Tournament is all about,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. “We knew Georgia was going to be a formidable opponent and I thought we played really well today. This game is about taking chances, great response from our team with coinciding a goal so late and you just saw what the Clemson Tigers are all about. They dug down, they never gave up, reached deep inside and found a way to make it happen. I’m just impressed with our kids' resiliency and the fact that they wanted to win, they wanted to advance and sometimes you have to do whatever it takes.”Both teams started the match off strong as the Tigers and
CLEMSON, S.C. – A second-half scoring outburst, including a brace from Renee Lyles, propelled No. 8 Clemson (12-1-3, 6-1-1 ACC) to a 3-0 victory over Louisville (3-8-5, 2-4-2 ACC) on Thursday night at Historic Riggs Field. During the match, the NCAA revealed its midseason top-16 rankings, with the Tigers checking in at No. 8. “Louisville is a good team, they are one of the better organized defensive groups in the league so this isn’t an easy team to break down. There were a few adjustments that we felt like we needed to make at halftime so credit to our team for bringing a little bit more urgency in our play in the attacking half and let’s give us some credit, we kind of wore them down and found the things that we were looking for,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. While no goals were scored in the first half, the Tigers impressed on the pitch defensively as they left the Cardinals cornerless and allowed for only a single shot to be taken, which was saved by goalkeeper Ha
CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 9 Clemson Tigers earned a 1-1 draw against Virginia in a defensive battle at Historic Riggs Field. “There were moments where we played quite well, very dominant and we have been very good at creating chances but unfortunately, we couldn’t knock some in the back of the net. We needed more than just the one and it wasn’t from a lack of creating it, sometimes that happens in the game where it just doesn’t bounce your way,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. I told the team ‘these things happen, you have to put it behind you and let’s focus on our game Sunday with Virginia Tech’.” The action was slow to start in the first-half as the Tigers were trailing by one after Jill Flammia got one past goalkeeper Halle Mackiewicz at the eight-minute mark. However, the Tigers responded back in the 33rd minute as junior Renee Lyles was able to even the score for Clemson. Graduate Sami Meredith was able to guide the ball towards the right-hand side of the f
