Bornkamp to Play in U-23 National Team Matches

CLEMSON, S.C. - Sophomore defender Megan Bornkamp has been named one of 22 collegiate players to play on the U.S. U-23 Women's Youth National Team. Bornkamp will compete at the Thorns Preseason Tournament from March 5- March 11 and take on three NWSL teams: Chicago Red Stars, Portland Thorns and OL Reign. Bornkamp was the centerpiece of the Clemson defense this season and brought home many awards, including becoming a United Soccer Coaches two-time All-American and First Team All-Atlantic Region, First Team All-ACC, ACC All Tournament Team, Preseason All-ACC Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, Academic All-American and now gains even more experience with the U.S. Youth National Team.  For more information on the Thorns Preseason Tournament and Bornkamps' experience, check out the US Soccer link here. Six Tigers Named to All-ACC Academic Team

CLEMSON, S.C. - Six Tigers have been named to the ACC All-Academic Team, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.  Megan Bornkamp, majoring in Management, is named to the ACC All-Academic Team for the second straight season. Bornkamp played and started in all 20 matches for the Tigers and was the backbone of the Tiger’s defense, while also leading the charge with a team-high 30 points. She was named a two-time United Soccer Coaches All American, First Team All-ACC, United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Atlantic Region, ACC All-Tournament Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and Preseason All-ACC Team.  Caroline Conti, a junior Sport Communications major, earns the honor for the second time in her career after playing in 19 matches and starting 18 of them. Caroline Conti Collects Weekly Honors

CLEMSON, S.C. –  Junior forward Caroline Conti has been named ACC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday morning. This is the third time that Conti has received the honor in her career. Conti recorded a single game career-high five points against Boston College while recording a brace and an assist. Her goals were assisted by Makenna Morris, Megan Bornkamp and Renee Guion. Just a few days later, Conti scored the first goal of the match against No. 22 Notre Dame in the first round of the ACC Tournament, bringing her total to seven points in two games. The Tigers will travel to WakeMed Park in Cary, N.C. to battle the Virginia Cavaliers in the ACC Semifinals on Friday at 5:30 p.m. Game coverage will be available on ACC Network.
