CARY, N.C. – Behind two second-half goals, seventh-ranked Clemson women’s soccer downed ninth-ranked Notre Dame, 3-2, in the first of two semifinal games at the 2023 Ally ACC Women’s Soccer Championship. The win moves the Tigers into their first ACC Championship game since 2002. “We have great respect for Notre Dame, it’s always a hard, competitive game. We just felt that the last time out, we didn’t really do a true showing of who we were and we felt we could come out tonight and show people what we are capable of doing all season and being consistent with our play and I thought the first 30 minutes of that game was spectacular,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanski said. “Whoever we end up playing in the final, it’s going to be a tough game and they are playing a game as well. CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 8 Clemson Tigers take down the Miami Hurricanes 5-0 as five different Tigers score and goalkeeper Halle Mackiewicz picks up her seventh clean sheet of the season. “It’s a good win, I thought we kept great focus and concentration,” Head Coach Eddie Radwanksi said. “I thought the level of play that our team played at was very high. It was an all-and-all great performance, it’s nice to get the shutout and I just thought the level of concentration was very good.” Despite the match being delayed due to lightning, the Tigers came out strong on the pitch as they opened up scoring early in the first half. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 14 Clemson women’s soccer team (5-3-2) fell to No. 7 Florida State (7-0-2) 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Seminole Soccer Complex for their second ACC loss of the season. The Tigers were unable to record a goal in the first half despite Renee Lyles registering a threatening shot on goal in the ninth minute which was blocked. The Seminoles were able to strike twice in the first half on goals from Jody Brown and Maria Alagoa in the sixth and 30th minute, respectively. Clemson had three shots in the first half compared to Florida State’s six. Despite Clemson controlling possession in the beginning of the second half, the Seminoles would keep their foot on the gas as Jody Brown scored her second goal and fifth point of the day to extend the lead to 3-0 with 26 minutes left in the match.
