CLEMSON, S.C. – Following their success in the classroom, 14 Tigers have been named to the All-ACC Academic Team for women’s soccer as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. With 14 honorees, this marks the second-highest amount in program history. Last season, Clemson set a new program-record with 15. Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. The athletic requirement for student-athletes is to have played in at least 50 percent of competition. Megan Bornkamp, Hal Hershfelt and Caroline Conti all picked up their fourth All-ACC Academic honor as Clemson was the only school in the conference to have three athletes earn the honor for the fourth time in their career. CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson women’s soccer team (7-4-2) defeated No. 24 Virginia Tech (9-4-1) 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at Historic Riggs Field. The win secured Clemson’s sixth consecutive victory against Virginia Tech. Congrats to our team today on a very good win over Virginia Tech, said Head Coach Eddie Radwanski. It was a great win over a well organized Hokie team. The second half was a really gritty performance. Makenna Morris, Harper White and Halle Mackiewicz did a great job on our back line. We were very solid and didn’t concede an awful lot. It’s three valuable points in the ACC, so it’s a great weekend for the Tigers and we’re looking forward to next week. CLEMSON, S.C. - The Clemson women’s soccer team dominated in a rainy Sunday afternoon match after a near three hour weather delay against the App State Mountaineers for a 3-0 win at Historic Riggs Field. “I give all the credit to the team for keeping a good focus and concentration. It’s not easy when you have multiple weather delays, so I was really impressed with how we came out and dialed in,” said Head Coach Eddie Radwanski. “I’d like to thank all the fans that stayed here for several hours waiting to see when the kickoff was going to take place. It was good to get three goals and get a shutout. [We had] a lot of good possessions, creating opportunities. We showed a lot of good patience- that was really good to see.
