Nine Seminoles Earn ALL-ACC Academic Honors

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team had nine student-athletes earn All-ACC Academic honors as Vic Allen, Alice Amendola, Anna Arkadianou, Millie Bissett, Olympe Lancelot, Kristyna Lavickova, Kianah Motosono, Ellie Schoppe, and Mila Saric made the All-ACC Academic Team, which was announced Wednesday. The Seminoles earned a 3.69 grade-point average in the 2022-2023 academic year and a program high 3.77 spring semester GPA. The team had nine earn a 3.5 GPA or higher, which included five 4.0 GPAs in the spring season. Academic requirements for the selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests. Tigers Drop Regular Season Finale

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 37 Clemson women’s tennis team (15-11, 3-10 ACC) fell on Senior Day in its regular season finale to No. 33 Florida State by a final score of 4-1. The Tigers were unable to win the doubles point and despite their attempts to mount a comeback, the Seminoles managed to put the match away.  Prior to the match, seniors Eleni Louka and Lana Sipek were honored for their contributions to the program. They were joined by former Tigers Laura Marti and Tate Schroeder, as well as Clemson’s all-time winningest head coach in Nancy Harris.  “I want to say a special thank you to Eleni and Lana for always bringing the best version of themselves and representing Clemson with pride,” said Head Coach Amy Sargeant on her two seniors. After Florida State won the doubles point, the Seminoles secured the next two singles matches to take a commanding 3-0 lead. Florida State Travels West For ITA Kickoff Weekend

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women’s tennis team is playing the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted by Stanford University, facing Arkansas on Friday and either host Stanford or Kansas State on Saturday. The Seminoles are 3-0 in 2023 after a perfect opening weekend at home. FSU defeated FGCU 6-1 on Friday before sweeping a Sunday doubleheader over Mercer and FAMU by scores of 7-0 and 4-0, respectively. Senior Vic Allen and junior Ellie Schoppe lead the Seminoles with three singles wins. Allen was dominant in the season’s first weekend, winning 37 of 43 games played and taking four of the six sets at love, including 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 final scores on Sunday at the No. 2 singles position. Schoppe displayed her mastery as well, winning 6-0, 6-4 at No. 5 Friday before a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 4 against Mercer and a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 against FAMU.
