By heading to Miami, McCourty, who played his college ball at Rutgers, gets another chance to work with Brian Flores. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports “McCourty played one season, in 2018, under Flores who was the Patriots’ de-facto defensive coordinator at the time.” ESPN’s Mike Reiss reports “The chance to play for Flores again was a driving factor in McCourty’s decision.”

It’s been less than a week since the conclusion of the 2021 NFL Draft. But it’s never too early to look ahead to next year’s selection process. That’s why ESPN’s Todd McShay is out with his first-round mock projections for the 2022 NFL Draft. Here are the main takeaways:
Texans land No. 1 pick
McShay believes Houston will select Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux with the top overall pick.

After the Giants traded back and picked Kadarius Toney 20th overall in the NFL Draft, there were some questions about if that was too soon. Most post-draft grades lauded some of their other picks, but not that one.
But there was at least one team that picked after the Giants that has already made it clear they would’ve picked Toney too. And maybe more than one team.
