After years of poor play at the position, Giants general manager Dave Gettleman is doing everything to insure that the defense never has issues of talent on the back-end. He’s spent big money to sign players like James Bradberry and Adoree’ Jackson the last two years, plus using draft picks on players like Darnay Holmes and Julian Love.

After weeks (and years) of jokes, the Giants general manager traded back again in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday night, just one night after Gettleman traded back in the first round.
The Giants are, smartly, loading up on draft picks in 2022.

Friday, the Giants traded back from the 42nd overall pick to No. 50 with the Miami Dolphins, and also received a 2022 third-round pick in the deal. Now, the Giants possess multiple 2022 picks in the first, third and fourth rounds. The Giants received a 2022 first-round pick and 2022 fourth-round pick in the first-round trade-back with the Chicago Bears.
