Justin Fields was the straw that broke the Gettleman’s back.
Dave Gettleman had never traded back not in any round in eight drafts as a general manager, including his time with the Panthers and Giants. Every year, it was a topic of consternation at Gettleman’s pre-draft press conference. He laughed about it this year.
The New York Giants drafted Florida wide receiver Kadarius Toney in the first round and there are some questions about off-field incidents that transpired while he was in college.
Now here’s an interesting comparison for Giants’ Kadarius Toney: To a former All-Pro wide receiver

Many have compared Giants draft pick Kadarius Toney to Percy Harvin, and that comparison makes sense. Both are shorter, explosive, versatile wide receivers that played collegiately at Florida.
But Rick Neuheisel a longtime college coach and former Ravens offensive coordinator had a different, intriguing comparison for Toney, who the Giants picked 20th overall on Thursday night of the NFL Draft:
Derrick Mason, a former All-Pro wide receiver for the Titans and Ravens.
“He was a third-down aficionado and he just basically would get open on dodge routes,” Neuheisel said on SiriusXM NFL radio on Thursday night. “Basically, go run off this linebacker and get open. Toney will be that kind of player for the Giants.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Rodgers is threatening to retire if he’s not traded by Green Bay.
The #Packers are dug in and so is QB Aaron Rodgers. Remember, Rodgers’ agent Dave Dunn helped Carson Palmer shoot his way out of Cincy. even if it took a while. Perhaps a similar game plan, stay tuned for the results. If Aaron Rodgers retires (to host Jeopardy or just retire), he would have to repay the team $11.5M this year and $11.5M if he remains retired next year all from his signing bonus. Unless the situation is repaired to his liking, this is a serious consideration, I’m told.
