19th April 2021 Pernod Ricard UK is continuing to invest in its Beefeater gin brand with the unveiling of a new ready-to-drink (RTD) can range. The product is available in three varieties: Beefeater London Dry Gin & Tonic, Beefeater Pink Strawberry Gin & Tonic and Beefeater Blood Orange & Tonic. The 25cl, slimline cans (RRP £2) have an ABV of 4.9% and are rolling out across convenience and the wider off-trade this month. Pernod Ricard highlighted that RTD cans are growing at nearly 15% in value across the total Off-Trade, with that figure growing in convenience to almost 40%. The gin category is also experiencing double-digit value growth in the off-trade (+24.4%) and this more than doubles in convenience (+53.5%). ....
12th March 2021 Pernod Ricard has added a new variant to its vodka brand Absolut. Absolut Watermelon is aimed at tapping into the increased demand for watermelon flavour alcoholic drinks, which has grown more than 60% over the last year. The product has a slightly reduced ABV of 38% for an “enhanced flavour profile” which makes it ideal as a mixer and cocktail ingredient. Chris Shead, Off Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK, commented: “We know shoppers have been experimenting with serves at home more than ever, which has driven rapid growth of the flavoured vodka category. We want to continue this momentum by adding to our range with a flavour we know consumers will love. ....
2nd February 2021 Pernod Ricard’s vodka brand Absolut has launched a limited-edition bottle made of 60% recycled glass as part of its sustainability push. Chris Shead, Off Trade Channel Director for Pernod Ricard UK, commented: “We know sustainability is important to shoppers, with data showing that 83% of consumers globally select brands that have a better record of sustainability. We also know that the Absolut limited-edition bottle is a collectable item for those loyal to the brand and we can’t wait to give our consumers the chance to be a part of our sustainability journey.” The Absolut limited-edition glass bottle will be sold in a 70cl format across supermarkets and convenience stores (RRP £20) and a 1L format at Costco and Amazon (RRP £28). The launch will be supported by above-the-line media, PR and influencer activity. ....
