TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s annual FSU Relays kicked off Thursday at Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla. With the majority of the events set for Friday, the Seminole men’s and women’s teams will go into the final day in fine shape.
Senior Amani Heaven was FSU’s top finisher winning the women’s shot put with a throw of 16.84 meters. A second team All-America in the event at the 2022 NCAA Championships as a junior, Heaven finished second in the shot put at the ACC Indoor Championships last month. Her winning throw was a personal best.
A trio of Seminoles finished second in their Thursday events. Tallahassee native Curtis William’s 7.59 meter long jump was second best in the men’s field and junior Faith Banks was runner-up in the women’s 200 meters with a personal best time of 23.60. Riley Bahr was second in the 5,000 meters at 17:13.01.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A total of 16 student-athletes representing the Florida State cross country teams captured All-ACC Academic Team honors on Thursday.
The Seminoles had nine women recognized, which tied for the league lead along with NC State and Virginia, while the men had the second-highest total at seven along with Duke, Pitt, and Georgia Tech.
“This is just fantastic!” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “Our women led the ACC in All-Academic honors and the men had the second most. I’m really proud that our student-athletes make academics a priority.”
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State cross country teams will start the postseason on Friday by racing in the 2022 ACC Championships at the Panorama Farms course in Earlysville, Virginia. The University of Virginia will serve as the host team.
The men’s 8k will start at 10:40 a.m., followed by the women’s 6k at 11:30 a.m. Both races will air on ACC Network Extra and live timing will be available. Coverage will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Both races will see 13 teams step to the starting line on Friday carrying a national ranking or have received votes in the latest USTFCCCA poll.

The 24th-ranked women’s team stepped to the line for the 6k race alongside 35 other teams. FSU was one of the 28 squads carrying a national ranking or receiving votes. In a field of 263 runners, the Seminoles were aggressive at the start as three runners went out with the lead pack. Alyson Churchill paced the Noles, crossing the finish line in 51st with a time of 20:33.0, which was her personal best. Emmy Van den Berg followed in 83rd at 20:46.9 ahead of Agnes McTighe (20:57.5) in 111st. Rebecca Pottorff was the fourth runner for the Noles at 21:19.3 (167) and Caitlin Wiley rounded out the scoring (186), posting a time of 21:28.40, whic ....
