Results Crimson Classic | Results Nuttycombe Invite Madison, Wisc. – Known as the most competitive and toughest race in the regular season, the NR/No. 24 Florida State cross country teams closed out the 2022 regular season at the Nuttycombe Invitational, which was held on Friday at the Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wisconsin. The 24th-ranked women’s team stepped to the line for the 6k race alongside 35 other teams. FSU was one of the 28 squads carrying a national ranking or receiving votes. In a field of 263 runners, the Seminoles were aggressive at the start as three runners went out with the lead pack. Alyson Churchill paced the Noles, crossing the finish line in 51st with a time of 20:33.0, which was her personal best. Emmy Van den Berg followed in 83rd at 20:46.9 ahead of Agnes McTighe (20:57.5) in 111st. Tallahassee, Fla. – Florida State freshman cross country runner Jane Eiselstein was chosen at the ACC Women’s Freshman of the Week on Tuesday. The honor is given weekly the top-performing true freshman in the league. In her first outing in the Garnet and Gold, Eiselstein was the third Seminole to cross the finish line at the FSU Invite, placing 27th behind a personal best of 18:20.3 in the 5K. The Chattanooga, Tennessee, native, helped the Noles place fourth at the meet. Eiselstein is the first to win the honor since Alyson Churchill took home the weekly recognition in October of 2020. “We’re very excited about the announcement of Jane being the ACC Freshman of the Week,” FSU women’s distance coach Baylee Mires said. “This honor highlights her dedication, hard work, and tenacity when it comes to racing. Results Tallahassee, Fla. – The Florida State cross country teams competed in the sole home meet of the season on Friday at the Apalachee Regional Park. Racing in ideal conditions, the Noles certainly excelled on their home course as nine scoring runners logged personal best collegiate times. The men took second place, scoring 87 points in the 8K, led by redshirt junior Matthew Newland in seventh place. His time of 24:34.9 was a personal best along with Anderson Ball (24:46.7), Coleman Cronk (24:58.6), and Wynne Thomas (25:04.1). Ball finished next in 14th followed by Colby Otero in 18th, Cronk in 21st, Thomas in 27th, and Matthew Owens in 59th (25:42.4). “I was really pleased with the guys,” said head coach Bob Braman said. “Several of these guys have a chance to be on our ACC team, so we looked at this race as a hard effort and we trained through it and ran hard. Most of the guys ran personal bests on tired legs. Our depth is even better than we thought it would be.�

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – McCallie’s track team has finished as the state runner-up more times than coach Mike Wood wants to count, but they finally put it all together here at Rockvale High School to win the DII-AA state title for the first time after scoring 164.33 points to beat runner-up Christian Brothers’ 146.
The Blue Tornado got a huge lead several days ago when Michael May won the decathlon and teammates Nicolas Robinson and Eric Rivers finished third and fourth to put McCallie out front with 23 points.
GPS Impressive In Regional Track Championships
Bruisers Take First Place In 10 Events, Scoring 124.5 Points Saturday, May 15, 2021
During the two-day event held on the GPS lower athletic track and field this week, the Bruisers dominated in events across the board to take the title of regional champions. They competed against Baylor, Chattanooga Christian School, and Knox Catholic. The Bruisers took home first place in 10 of the 18 events and also claimed the DII AA Track and Field East Regional Championship.
