upper 80s inland. breeze kicks in. 60s, 70s, and 80s. sal, 7:01. is it still quiet out there? >> yeah. you can see that the traffic on eastshore freeway looks pretty good from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze. there are no major problems all the way to the bay bridge toll plaza. chp will be doing extra enforcement this holiday weekend with more, not fewer, officers on the roads through the holiday weekend. let's go out to the toll plaza. you can see traffic is light. it is not a normal day there at the bay bridge toll plaza. and we are also looking at 880. traffic looking good. 580 as well. the altamonte pass doesn't have much traffic right now. back to the desk. >> thank you, sal. an amber alert remains in effect this morning as authorities look for a missing vallejo teen. alex savidge live from marin county where police say they may have found an important clue. >> reporter: good morning to you, gasia. this violent kidnapping that happened earlier this week triggered and amber alert initially. the car authorities were searching for was spotted on a traffic camera here near the richmond san rafael bridge. this is now one area where investigators are focusing. it was actually a license plate reader that triggered that traffic camera. you can see the image. it shows that gold saturn sedan driving along sir francis drake boulevard yesterday at about 9:30 in the morning. in this image you can see the suspected kidnapper in this case fernando castro behind the wheel of that car. now shall the image does not show -- now, the image does not show the victim, pearl pinson, in the car. she could have been lying down or in the trunk. now, this morning the 15-year- old girl remains missing while the man accused of abducting her is dead. that was the violent scene in santa barbara county after chp officers spotted the car at the center of this amber alert. officers wound up getting into a shoot-out with the suspected kidnapper in a mobile home park there. when it was all said and done that 19-year-old had been shot and killed. now, investigators believe castro kidnapped pearl at gunpoint early wednesday morning from a freeway overpass in vallejo. last night her family held a vigil. they are holding out hope she will be found safe. >> i am overwhelmed. i am worried sick about her. so much is running through my mind. i don't know what to believe right now. i just want her found. >> reporter: now, witnesses to that kidnapping early wednesday morning reported seeing a man dragging pearl away from that freeway overpass. at the time she was bleeding and screaming for help. we understand that pearl and the man accused of taking her are acquaintances. that's how authorities described their relationship. now, let's put a graphic up on the screen here because there has been a tip line set up by the solano county sheriff's office. if you have any idea where pearl may be, any information that might help investigators in this search, put in a call to the number you see here. to hiroshima. we come to ponder the terrible force unleashed in a not so distant past. we come to mourn the dead. >> president obama also met with survivors of the bomb saying what happened in hiroshima shows why we should pursue a world without nuclear weapons. time is 7:13. u.s. health officials reporting the first case of an antibiotic resistant infection here in the u.s. a 49-year-old woman in pennsylvania who had not been outside the u.s. was found to have an infection that is resistant to all existing antibiotics. it's a so-called superbug. it has shown up in china and europe. this is the first time in the u.s. the centers for disease control calls the antibiotic- resistant superbug one of the most urgent public health threats. dead and dying trees are forcing the closure of more than a dozen campgrounds in memorial day weekend. a bark beetle infestation is causing trees to become weak and die at a fast rate. they are worried about trees toppling over and the safety of campers is their main concern. some sites may remain for the entire summer. the group heal the bay says the most polluted california beach is in santa cruz county. it was ranked number one for the third year in a row. sunny dale cove in san francisco and pillar point in san mateo county are ranked eighth and ninth on the list of dirtiest beaches based on levels of bacterial pollution. six bay area beaches were given craze of c, d, or f. the cleanest are lind mar in pacifica and alameda point in alameda county. let's check in with sal. >> there is some slow traffic out there. it's not quite as bad as it would be on a normal commute day. a lot of people have taken the four-day weekend, obviously, ahead of memorial day. this is what the toll plaza looks like right now. this is not what it normally looks like. i don't have to tell you that if you drive it everyday. >> highway 101 san francisco not bad. northbound 101 and southbound 101, certainly people are out there. i want to show you a map because we managed to find some slow traffic. highway 4 is slow as you come up and over the hill from pittsburg to baypointe. but it's not even that bad. it does slow down to 20 miles per hour. some times it has been worse. it's not all that bad. 7:16. let's go to steve. a little bit of fog. some over the estuary, napa, sonoma county, but that's going to burn off pretty fast. what's on the san mateo-santa cruz coast looks like that will stick out. doing a little fishing here. i would think that's what these guys are up to. are we on the estuary there? >> friday light before the memorial day holiday. let's go out, steve, and take a look at what we have now. the traffic continues to look good in many areas, as you can see here. traffic on interstate 880 is not bad as you drive past the oakland colindres. i don't think we are going to get any of the traditional slow traffic from san leandro up to oakland. it hasn't appeared yet. we have slow traffic on highway 4 from pittsburg to baypointe. i did manage to find some of that. 680 doesn't look bad in the area. and 80 in contra costa county looks good from pinellas to richmond. a little bit of slowing getting into marin county. 7:31. back to the desk. >> thank you. in marin county two suspects now in custody and the search goes on for a third suspect after an attack in the north bay that left one teenager dead and another one wounded. ktvu fox 2's christian kafton, you're at novato high school. i know the victims went there. you have been in contact with investigators. any updates? >> reporter: yeah, i have actually been texting back and forth with investigators this morning. they say at this point no updates about that third suspect who is still outstanding. the two suspects yesterday arrested in dramatic fashion. >> search warrant. come out with your hands up. >> reporter: now, marin county sheriff's office tactical unit stormed the leafwood apartments yesterday to take one suspect into custody. that suspect came out without incident. investigators are not saying what led them to that suspect. investigators arrested another suspect earlier in the day and now as we have been saying, that hunt still on for the third suspect. >> we are actively trying to pursue any further leads that might help us identify again the identity and location of that individual. >> reporter: deputies say they arrested those two suspects in connection with the shooting and stabbing incident wednesday that left one novato high school teen dead. another hospitalized. at this point investigators aren't disclosing a motive in this case and are still looking for the third suspect. they are saying that the surviving victim cooperating with authorities and providing them with information about the attackers. yesterday authorities said this was, they believe, a targeted attack. that despite the fact that this third suspect is still on the loose, they do not believe that there is a threat to the community at large. >> christian kafton in novato. thank you. 7:33. two alameda county sheriff's deputies charged with beating a man in an alley are due back in court. the deputies pled not guilty. the video from december shows the officers repeatedly beating stanislaw petrov with batons. the lawyer for santa maria says the police body camera video that has not been released to the public could clear his client. >> you hear the officers giving commands to, you know, mr. petrov on the ground, and it's clear are from that, to me, that the officers are not seeing compliance. >> the police are not the judge and jury. it's not their job to decide who should be executed. >> now, the deputies claiming they feared for their lives say petrov is a drug suspect who was driving a stolen car, had already rammed two police cars trying to escape being arrested. petrov suffered a concussion, head wounds, and several broken bones in that beating. time is 7:34. this morning hillary clinton continues her campaign swing through the bay area. she is scheduled to take part in a discussion with community leaders here in oakland. yesterday clinton appeared at rallies in san jose and san francisco. she was introduced by lieutenant governor gavin newsom. she targeted her presumed opponent for the presidency calling donald trump a loose cannon. >> he is saying is dangerous and divisive. what he is saying is harmful to our future and our country. >> clinton's meeting this morning with community leaders here in oakland is set for 9:00 at the home of chicken and waffles restaurant. supporters of bernie sanders are painting a mural featuring the candidate in oakland. it's going up on west grand avenue and magnolia street. the group behind it says they are part of the native american community and say they are painting the mural because sanders stands with the native american people. donald trump is scheduled to hold a rally today in fresno before flying to san diego. now, police in both cities say they are prepared and don't expect problems. earlier this week at least eight people were arrested outside a trump rally near l.a. yesterday it was reported that donald trump has enough delegates to clinch the republican nomination. he was put over the top by some unpledged delegates in north dakota. was it really just a prank? ktvu fox 2's janine de la vega live in the newsroom to explain how high school students are behind the theft of some campaign signs. >> this was traced back to a group of seniors from santa teresa high school. the principal says it was their senior prank, but it crossed the line. several candidates running for the san jose city council say more than 100 of their pinellas signs were stole -- their campaign signs were stolen. it wasn't just local candidates. signs from hillary clinton and bernie sanders, presidential campaigns, were found there as well. a surveillance camera captured video of a student stealing one of the signs from a yard. >> they took away not only my freedom of speech, but they took away the freedom of speech of the people who put up the signs that wanted to support me. i think that's very important to note that, you know, you are not just hurting my campaign financially. you are taking away our freedom of speech. >> school administrators say besides stealing the signs, students ripped out trees, glued doors and tagged buildings. the cost of damage, clean-up and investigation totals $2,600. students will have to reimburse the school district but candidates are recommending the students also do community service. gasia. >> thank you. happening today the san francisco unified school district is helping to promote a statewide campaign to end violence and discrimination against transgender people. at 11:30 this morning school leaders will be at mission high school for a rally to encourage all california schools to join the transformed california campaign. transform california promotes understanding for the transgender community. time is now 7:37. now we know the san jose sharks will be playing the pittsburg penguins in the stanley cup finals. last night the penguins beat tampa bay 2-1 game 7 of the eastern conference finals. the penguins won in 2009. the sharks have never been to a stanley cup final. so the series begins monday. game 2 is wednesday. the first game in san jose will be saturday june 4th. and you know that is causing the sap center to make a change. opera star andrea bocelli was due to perm on june 4th with jordin sparks and the san jose festival orchestra. but the sharks and the penguins will be playing game 3 of the stanley cup finals now. the sharks tell us the concert has been moved to friday, june 3rd. refunds will be available to those who can't go on that new date. 7:38. a new tool to help better predict and prevent wildfires. at 8:00 a map that shows where power lines pose the greatest fire danger. accusations against twitter. the information a woman says the san francisco company gave to the man she says was harassing her online. and we have a big problem in oakland 580 eastbound. we have a crash at teller. traffic is now slowing westbound. fortunately, there is a decent alternate. i will tell you what this is when we come back. some low clouds out over the estuary beginning to lift a little bit and burn off. so warmer temps on the way, but not that warm. we will take a look. welcome back. it's 7:41. oakland police released photos of three people and a car that may be linked to a killing. 30-year-old brian bowl was shot in the head in north oakland last mont as he walked home from the kingfish bar. surveillance images show three people who may have seen or talked to him in the area of richmond boulevard and frisbee street where the shooting occurred. investigators also leased this photo of a car seen in that area. it's described as a four-door 2003 to 2007 silver honda accord. well, a woman says she was being harassed by a man on twitter, and when she filed a complaint about it on the social media site her personal information was given to the man who was harassing her. according to beside insider, the woman works in the tech industry, is very active in politics as well. she says she was targeted for her political activities. she also claims the man tweeted photos of her child and targeted her in several videos. now, she says she complained to twitter and says that twitter is part of the reporting process, sent a copy of her complaint with her private information, including her home address, to the man she was complaining about. twitter told business insider it does not comment on individual accounts. the marin independent journal reports the board of trustees in mill valley alerted parents that they negotiated a restitution agreement with kate mecca. she was the founder and director of that school. over eight years they say she diverted money into her accounts. she released a statement in which she said she gave 40 years of her life to working hard to sustain the school. the golden gate bridge opened and this day 79 years ago. with an eye towards the future the bridge district's new budget includes funding to hire two new engineers to build a safety net for it. the idea is to prevent people from committing suicide by jumping off the bridge. "the examiner" now reports within the district's proposed $210 million budget there is a provision to hire two engineers to help with the netting. several firms are bidding for the project. bart crews plan to finish scheduled track maintenance ahead of schedule, so it's the last couple of days of disrupted service. the work starts at mudslide tonight. it will end 4 a.m. on tuesday enter rutting service between the bayfair in san leandro stations on the fremont line. but if there is a warriors game 7, normal service will be back up and running sunday after 3 p.m. to help out the fans. the bus bridge will be in place during that track maintenance. it may cause delays of 30 minutes to an hour. time is 7:44. a lot of people staying home from school and work. a lot of people, sal, like all of us, still have to be where they are supposed to be. >> yes. so there is a mix of people who have to be where they are supposed to be. unfortunately, what happens sometimes, gasia and dave, is when the speeds are up out there people get into more serious accidents. people are driving faster. a big time crash eastbound 508 at keller. it's also affecting westbound traffic as well. so suddenly what had been a pretty nice wide open commute for you is not. you can use 880 as an alternate. there is some slow traffic on 880, but i would still use 880 instead of 580. anywhere near keller is going to be slow on the freeway. plenty of emergency vehicles there. let's move along and take a look at some of these other commutes. the bay bridge is light. just don't go too fast. chp does not take time off really. it actually increases patrols over the holiday weekends like this weekend coming up. let's move along. one more thing here. taking a look at highway 24, not a bad commute heading over to the surrendering. look at happened in orange county after officers tried to pull over a stolen car. the driver led officers on a slow-speed chase. the car did stop after running over some spike strips. the passenger gets out of the car right away, puts the hands up. the driver chooses to lean out the window, and watch. drink a beer. goes on to yell at officers. he does eventually get out and surrender. in the end, no one was hurt during this chase. time is 7:52. the board of san francisco working on some new plans for an underused pier. the answer may be a mega carport. pier '80s 70-acre site may soon be busy again thanks to a 15- year agreement. they will take over that space. they can dock four huge car hauling cargo ships at a time. and 96 of those ships will make port there every year. >> we think that we're going to handle about 150 cars annually from various locations. asia, europe, mexico. there are more cars being brought in from mexico to california than there are from japan. >> and the port estimates the initial operation will provide about 400 new jobs and bring in about $3.9 million in state and local taxes. well, san francisco's park system has been named the fifth best in america. the trust republic land says the city was rated the highest in the nation for park access pointing out 99% of residents live within a 10-minute walk of a park. it was based on park size, facilities and investment, and availability of things like basketball hoops, off-leash dog parks and recreation and senior centers. a marijuana friendly gym may soon open in san francisco. the "san francisco chronicle" says the owners in the final stages of getting a lease for the gym which will be called power plant fitness. the paper says marijuana edibles and vaping will be allowed inside the gym. the city does not allow smoking marijuana indoors. it could open up in the fall. you could own a piece of tv history in san francisco. talking about the victorian home made famous in "full house." it's for sale. just over four million dollars. these are photos taken from vanguard properties in charge of the sale. it features almost 3,000 square feet of living space including three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms and a classically designed garden. the show's producers mainly used the exterior of the home. you can see the inside is a lot different from the "full house" set. they shot the show in their studio in burbank. the oakland raiders will pack care packages at the marine memorial area in san francisco. and in celebration of military appreciation month josh duhamel is teaming up with gmc to help our military. the general motors truck division raises funds for a charity called building for america's bravest. the group uses the money to build smart homes for want to mention. it was a hit-and-run accident eastbound 580 at keller with a vehicle that overturned. fortunately, we are coming to find out that the injuries were not serious, but the traffic is terrible on 580 both directions approaching keller because of the earlier crash. live pictures now. i can show you the traffic at the bay bridge toll plaza doesn't look that bad. in fact, it looks great. you can see traffic is moving along very nicely coming up through the area. also looking at the commute on 280 north and southbound. the traffic is going to be okay. now, steve asked about 29 and getting up to bottlerock. we are going to look at it here for you. we can put it on the map. if you want to bring my maps back up, i can show you that there is a little bit of slow traffic here on 29 heading northbound out of the city of napa in napa county heading up to yountville. so it is getting a little bit crowded there. nothing major, but certainly people -- you also see slow traffic on 29 through american canyon area. so definitely we are seeing people heading up for the festival. now lets go back to the desk. 8:03. a search for pearl pinson this morning. a 15-year-old vallejo girl who was kidnapped at gunpoint on wednesday. the man suspected of kidnapping pearl was killed yesterday in southern california. it happened during a shoot-out with police. ktvu's alex savidge live now in marin county to tell us why the searchers are looking there, alex. >> reporter: dave, good morning to you. authorities will continue their search for pearl pinson here near the richmond san rafael bridge later today because the man who is accused of kidnapping here was spotted driving through this area. the car at the center of the amber alert was picked up by a traffic camera here and it was actually triggered by a license plate reader. that gold saturn sedan was seen on sir francis drake boulevard yesterday 9:30 in the morning. this is the image that came from southern california. the suspected kidnapper, fernando castro, was behind the wheel of that car when it was seen in marin county. but 15-year-old pearl pinson was not seen in the car. now, this morning the teenager remains missing while the man accused of abducting her is dead. the accused kidnapper in this case was killed during a violent shoot-out with chp officers in santa barbara county yesterday. castro was cornered in a mobile home park and authorities say the 19-year-old fired at officers before being shot to death. investigators believe castro kidnapped pearl at gunpoint early wednesday morning from a freeway overpass in vallejo. the solano county sheriff says finding this missing teen will now be even more difficult since her accused kidnapper is dead. >> it can complicate things because we can't ask him. we can't interview him and find out more. but we have a team of dedicated investigators that are working very diligently around the clock to bring pearl home safely. and it makes the community involvement and information they can provide us that much more crucial for this case. >> reporter: now, investigators say pearl and her accused kidnapper were acquaintances. that's the nature of their relationship according to authorities. now, witnesses to the kidnapping reported seeing a man dragging pearl away from that overpass and at the time she was bleeding and screaming for help. now, if you have any information on where pearl might be this morning you are being urged to put in a call to a hotline set up by the solano county sheriff's department. call the number you see on your screen. it's (707)784-1963. and again the search goes on for this missing teenager taken from vallejo just a couple of days ago. and we do understand that one area where authorities will be found alive after disappearing on wednesday. 77-year-old gerald moore was found about 10:00 last night by search teams. they say he was found disoriented in a remote wooded area near the adobe creek country club. he was taken to a hospital to be examined. he is known for leading a non- profit we had lands group that focuses on protecting parks and wildlife the warriors beat the oklahoma city thunder last night. the crowd was fired up. this was a tough close game. marreese speights scored nine points in the first three minutes of the second quarter, but the thunder kept it close. the warriors went halftime with an eight point lead. in the third quarters oklahoma city took their first lead. >> for us we play taber when we're having -- we play better when we are having fun and enjoying the moment. we played like we were stressed in okc and it showed. kind of let loose, be ourselves, have fun, enjoy what we were doing. it was a good feel out there to, obviously, perform at a higher level. >> now the series goes back to oklahoma city for game 6 tomorrow night. california now has a new tool to better predict and prevent wildfires. the public utilities commission came out with a new map that shows where power lines pose the greatest fire danger. that green is considered a low danger area. you can see orange and red in the sierra nevada and the southern part of our state. these are the area where power lines are most at risk for sparking wildfires because of try and windy conditions. and with summer essentially here the oakland fire department is reminding people about fire prevention. a big part of the fire prevention effort focuses on vegetation inspection and their goat grazing program. today the fire department will be doing an annual vegetation at the commute on 880 northbound. it's beginning to slow down a little bit past the coliseum. some people may be avoiding 580 near keller, the scene of an earlier accident. i want to show you highway 29 is getting slow coming into the city of napa and getting up to the area here. so you should give yourself plenty of time. 29, highway 12. so you are going to see a lot of people going up for that looks to be the warmest day, would be monday. coming out of the north. underneath that we get a little bit of a west breeze, but not that strong. west at eight. i mean, it went from 25, gusts of two or three this morning, 17, 14, 13. that's a sure sign. oakland airport has a little offshore breeze. low 60s fairfield, concord, brentwood in there. very cool close. those don't last that long this except highway 29? >> yeah, people are going up to bottlerock, of course. they are taking the car. hopefully at least carpooling so you don't have to get stuck in traffic by yourself and ease the congestion on the roads a little bit. let's take a look at what we have closer to home though. i will say that traffic on eastshore freeway is going to be just okay. a little bit crowded. not stop and go as you drive out to the macarthur maze. when you get to the bay bridge toll plaza you will see that traffic is light today. it's definitely not a normal commute for the bay bridge. so we have been talking about bottlerock. i do want to mention that 29 is getting some crowded conditions near the city of napa and also in napa county. so if you are going there, please bring patience and just beware that that's happening so you are not surprised by it the 8:32. back to the desk. in marin county two suspects are in custody and the search continues for a third after an attack that left one teenager dead, another wounded. ktvu's christian kafton has been following the latest developments on the search. >> reporter: investigators say they are still looking for one suspect. that after two dramatic arrests yesterday afternoon. >> search warrant. resident at 1309 number 5, come out the door with your hands rupp i the sheriff's office tactical units stormed the leafwood apartments yesterday afternoon to take a suspect into custody. that suspect coming out without incident. investigators are not saying what led them to that suspect. investigators though arrested another suspect earlier in the day. now that hunt on for the third suspect. >> we are actively trying to pursue further leads that might help us identify the identity and location that have individual. >> reporter: deputies say they arrested the two suspects in connection with the shooting and stabbing incident that occurred wednesday which left one novato high school teen dead. another hospitalized. at this point investigators are not disclosing a motive in this case and are looking for that third suspect. they are saying that the surviving victim is cooperating with authorities and providing them with information about the attackers. yesterday authorities say that they believed this was a targeted attack, that they don't believe there is a threat to the community at large despite the fact that that third suspect is still out there. in novato, christian kafton, fox 2 news. time is 8:33. this morning hillary clinton keeps campaigning here in the bay area. due to be in oakland taking part in a discussion about community leaders. now, yesterday she was at rallies in san jose and san francisco. she was introduced by lieutenant governor gavin newsom. her meeting this morning in oakland set for 9:00. just a little while. she will be at the home of chicken and waffles on embarcadero west. meantime, some supporters of bernie sanders are painting a mural featuring bernie sanders in oakland. the mural is going up on a building on the corner of west grand avenue and magnolia. the group says they are a part of the native american community and they are painting the mural because bernie sanders stands with the native american people. meantime, donald trump is scheduled to hold a rally today in fresno before he flies to san diego. now, police in both cities say they are prepared. they don't expect any problems. earlier this week at least eight people were arrested outside of a trump rally near l.a. yesterday it was reported donald trump has enough delegates to clinch the republican nomination. he clinched it with unpledged delegates in north dakota. 8:35. bottlerock one of napa's biggest music events kicks off today. >> ♪[ music playing ]. >> a three-day festival that combines music, food, and wine. crews have been busy transforming the napa valley expo to a music, food, and wine lovers dream. >> you know, when the first music performers stage at noon, brian flores and pam cook already there. they are with us live. between you and i, you know i'm jealous, right? setting up the stage. we can hear all of that. and with us is dave graham, who is in charge of all this. you have been running this? >> yeah, this is our third year doing it. we continue to take leaps and bounds in terms of improving it. we are excited. >> reporter: yeah, raymond, i have to start with what are you most excited about this year do you think? >> i think in general just the overall flow and customer experience that people are going to have. i mean, look at this sky deck that people are going to be able to stand on to see some of the best performers in the world. stevie wonder. red hot chili peppers. florence and the machine. it's incredible. the culinary stage is something i am excited about as well. >> reporter: this event in it's fourth year, just continues to grow. has it ever gotten to the point where we may need to find another venue? >> no, no. the three guys that run this thing, my two partners, we are local. born and raised in napa valley. this is all about napa. so being able to have it in downtown napa, it's incredible. we have 30 local wineries, 30 local restaurants. we call it napa-tism. >> reporter: i imagine it's brought a lot of people into napa. i ran into a couple of people who live in the neighborhood. they watch us every morning. they are not super excited. it takes three weeks to set this up. it's kind of loud. for people who came the first year and now it's the fourth year, it was kind of chaotic then. what have you done since -- what can people expect in terms of parking and traffic and what have you done for the neighborhood? >> at the end of the day this is taking place downtown. so you have to be sensitive to everyone's needs. we put in place new measures relative to sound to be in compliance with an ordinance in place. we put up this sound wall. we have been doing public meetings for quite some time to really hear not what is good about bottlerock, but instead where we can improve. and it's a policy internally at our chinese new year parade shut up and listen. >> reporter: what are you looking forward to? there are so many acts. >> we will have gordon ramsey. local celebs dwight clark, michael mina being paired doing exciting food programming. there are surprises in store for sure. >> reporter: david is my new best friend. i get to meet michael franti. >> i am going to deliver. he is probably one of the nicest individuals on the planet. >> reporter: he and his wife raised a ton of money last night for the foundation. we are going to talk about that. >> reporter: yeah. he did. >> 14 hour flight and the san jose will be heading to pennsylvania to open up the stanley cup finals. last night the pittsburg penguins beat the tampa bay lightning 2-1. the penguins won the stanley cup in 2009. hadn't been back to the finals since. the sharks have never been to a stanley cup finals. the series begins monday. game 2 is wednesday. the first game in san jose is saturday, june 4th. that has caused the sap center to make a change. andrea bocelli was scheduled to perform there next saturday along with jordin sparks. the sharks and penguins game will be playing game 3 of the stanley cup times. that enforcement period all over the state this memorial day weekend. it starts just after six tonight, goes through monday night. they will be looking out for distracted drivers and people under the influence, and they want everybody to buckle up. last memorial day weekend 31 people died in crashes. most were not wearing seatbelts. more than 1,000 people were arrested for dwi-related offenses. well, a really bizarre police chase in southern california ended with a suspect drinking a beer before giving up. it happened yesterday morning in orange county. officers tried pull over a stolen car. this one here. the driver led police on a slow- speed chase, but eventually the car stopped after running over spike is strips. now, the passenger got out of the car right away, but the driver leaned out the window, drank his beer, and yelled at the police. he eventually got out and surrendered. no one was hurt during that chase. back here at home the port of san francisco has been working on new plans for an underused pier and the answer may be a mega carport. i mean a big one. pier '80s site. the automotive services will take over that space. they conduct four massive car- hauling cargo ships at one time. 96 make port there every year. >> we think we will handle 150,000 cars from asia, europe, mexico. there are more cars being brought in from mexico to california now than there are from japan. >> now, they are estimating the initial operation will provide about 400 new jobs, and also generate $3.9 million in state and local taxes. the group heal the bay says the most polluted beach in california is in santa cruz county. it ranked number one for the third straight year. sunny dale cove in san francisco and pillar point in san mateo county, they are ranked eighth and ninth on the list of the dirtiest beaches based on the levels of weekly bacterial pollution. six bay area beaches in all were given grades of c, d, or an f. some of the cleanest bay area beaches include lind mar in pacifica and alameda point in alameda county. time is 8:47. >> dave, we are still looking at the bay bridge commute, which has not become busier. i thought some people would show up later, but the volume hasn't been enough to cause a traffic jam. this is interstate 880. the traffic continues to be a little bit slow just north of san leandro up to downtown oakland. and if you are driving to napa, bottlerock, we have been talking about it, highway 29 and 12 taking a little bit more traffic and 80 doesn't look that bad. so there is more traffic, but it's not undoable in my opinion. i roland collins was caught here on surveillance video firing a gun. one person was killed in the shooting. three others were wounded, including collins himself. family members of the man who died say he was a member of collins' entourage. now, collins is facing charges of attempted murder and weapons charges. the rapper t.i. was due to perform at that concert, but he had not yet taken the stage. back here at home oakland police released photos of three people and a car that may be linked to a killing. 30-year-old brian bowel was shot in the head in north oakland last month. surveillance pictures show three people who may have seen or talked to bole where the shooting happened. investigators also released this photo of a car seen in that area. it's described as a four-door silver honda accord. well, two alameda county sheriff's deputies charged in the videotape beating of a man in a san francisco alley, they are due back in court july 19th. deputies luis santa maria and paul weaver pled not guilty. a video from shows the officers repeatedly beating stanislaw petrov with batons. the attorney for santa maria says the police body camera video that has not been released to the public could clear his client. >> you hear the officers giving commands to, you know, mr. petrov on the ground. it's clear from that, to me, that the officers are not getting compliance. >> the police are not the judge and jury. it's not their job to decide who should be executed. >> the deputies claim they feared for their lives. they say petrov is a drug suspect. he was driving a stolen car. he had already rammed two police cars trying to escape being arrested. petrov suffered a concussion, head wounds, and several broken bones in that beating. charges have been filed against a bart station agent accused of hitting a homeless man with a wooden rod at the macarthur bart station in march. paul bailey alameda used a two foot long wooden rod to attack sydney holloway because he thought halloway tried to avoid paying his fare. at first he told bart police hollow away swung at him. authorities say surveillance video shows bailey swinging the rod at holloway several times as he was trying to leave. he suffered a cut on his forehead. bailey has been charged with misdemeanor battery. a woman says she was being harassed by a man on twitter and when she filed a complaint on the social media site her personal information was given to the man harassing her. according to business insider, the woman works in the high- tech industry, but is very active in politics. she says she was targeted for her political activities. she claims the man tweeted photos of her child and targeted her in several videos. she complained to twitter, but says that twitter, as part of the reporting process, sent a copy of her complaint with her private information, including her home address, to the man she was complaining about. twitter told business insider they don't comment on individual accounts. two women from the east bay have been arrested. they are accused much stealing a large amount of baby formula and investigators say they could be part of a bigger problem. police say 21-year-old zanae jones of antioch on the left and 20-year-old akesha p al pleasant hill amore stole the formula. police found evidence that suggests they are part of a large-scale theft ring. well, a group of people running for office in san jose say their chances of winning may be hurt by a high school prank. several candidates for the san jose city council say more than 100 of their campaign signs were stolen last weekend. many were recovered at santa teresa high school. surveillance video recorded a student stealing a sign from a yard. >> every sign costs money and it's not just the money. it's the time and effort to go into the neighborhoods and to talk to people and convince people to let us put our signs out here. >> the staff at the high school found the stolen signs. they were sprawled across campus tuesday morning. they say students also ripped out trees, glued doors, and tagged buildings. the cost of the damage and the clean-up and the investigation is about $2,600. the students will have to reimburse the school district. well shall the oakland raiders will be doing their part for our deployed military troops. later this morning some current and former players as well as staff will pack up care packages. it's in honor of memorial day. the packages will be delivered to the marines deployed in the middle east. hats off to the oakland raiders. wonderful gesture
