put out this information about the hunter biden tapes, who supported russia collusion conspiracy theories. and so, this is not acceptable. >> online post in a very animated video soon emerged expressing her political views in the past this is her concern over the objectivity of what kind of information will be discounted under the new board the court into the white house it's intention is to stop disinformation from traveling around the country particularly as it relates to terrorism and smuggling. >> there is no question, everybody has bipartisan support for that to address disinformation that is helping smugglers pushing -- helping people migrate or providing false information prompting people to migrate. >> the white house did defend it saying she was highly qualified for this position. at the same time offered to some distance saying hiring is completely up to the department of homeland security. eric: elon musk twitter take over he's also taken over twitter. certain progressive near congresswoman among the many who cannot stop tweeting about the free speech they are afraid they will lose or confident they will gain after the tesla and space ex- ceo big buyout of the social media platform goes through just as musk has sold a billions and tesla chairs to help fund his controversy will deal with the latest on mr. musk in the two weeks and who is tweeting about him, hi nay. >> congresswoman alexandria oscasion-cortez is tweeting about them criticizing musk on twitter but so far it's been quote stop flirting to me it's a reference to the congresswoman sang her republican critics cannot date hurts or the tweet the congresswoman tweeted quote track tired to have to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening because some billionaire than ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because tucker carlson or peter took them to dinner and made him feel special. musk musk promises to make twitter a safe haven first free speech she wants to build trust by making the algorithms open source and says the platform must remain politically neutral. will send it back to erica. eric: thank you very much. alicia: funeral services held today for fallen texas national guard men bishop evans he died trying to say to migrants crossing the rio grand river last week. meanwhile prison bided met virtually with mexico president yesterday. as concerns grow over terminating title 42 brevet trump era border policy left agents send migrants back to mexico over pandemic concerns. brian is live and eagle pass, texas. >> good afternoon wish i live footage from the foxnews of drone over the rio grande river between mexico. this has been the site where thousands of migrants have illegally crossed into the u.s. across that river and numbers we have never seen before but both cities, leaders from both cities tell me they feel abandoned by the federal government at this moment. we visited earlier this morning and we saw for ourselves where migrants go and how they are living. >> this is the central ground they every single morning hundreds of migrants line appear for a warm meal, shower, a phone call, some hope or bertolotti's migrants are trying to make things work out here. but the situation is desperate. >> some of these immigrants have been there since 2021 but conditions are rough. some sleep and abandoned homes others in churches for their trying to find work but sometimes they can make $5 a day. others say they have tried to come in illegally and have been deported back. some say they are trying to come in legally there hoping for title 422 and on may 23 but we were told -- we asked some people migrants they told us there hearing rumors the end of title 42 on may 23 may make it easier for them to try to come into the united states on a legal pass. look at these numbers border patrol was averaging about 1500 encounters a day at the southwest border. today it is 7800. a title 42 ends it's number could be 18000 a day. we have witnessed immigrants being dropped off at the foot bridge border security and sent right back into mexico under title 42. governor greg abbott in texas state leadership yesterday approved another half billion dollars in new funding for a no over 4 billion-dollar operation loan start which was launched last march by the government to try to beef up border security. almost all that money is going towards the 10,000 national guardsmen that had been deployed here, putting up wire in helping overwhelm border patrol. but despite these efforts migrants are still finding a way to come here. we witnessed a man yesterday who risked it all, swim 50 yards across the rio grande into eagle pass, texas. he made it safely. but some two dozen migrants have drowned reportedly in the last month attempting to do the same thing. right now funeral services are underway in arlington, texas for 2022-year-old national guard specialists bishop evans who drowned trying to save to migrants in the rio grande river pretty spot it was discovered four days later the texas tribune reports, evans did not have the proper flotation devices and that is because from what they are reporting, the national guardsmen here have still not received that kind of equipment despite the fact they are at saving people in the rio grande river. almost very consistently at this point. alicia: absolutely terrible. bryan llenas live at the border and in the past, texas. thank you. eric: of investigating the attack at the u.s. capitol since they presented the report in the final hearing that in september. that after the committee says it will be holding eight hearings in june, each of those hearings focusing on a specific theme. the committee push those hearings back from next month they want to conduct more witness interviews for the hearings will be held in prime time we are told and daytime and overturned the 2020 presidential election. >> officials in kansas are still assessing what they say it was very bad damage caused by powerful tornado that touched on east of wichita last night. knocking out power to more than 6500 homes. emergency crews say they have already restored power to about 85% of those customers. officials say nearly 1000 structures were in the tornado's path and some homes were completely blown away. luckily no deaths and only a few injuries were reported. >> that is amazing for the russian forces attacked another airport in southern ukraine this is ukrainian rebecca grant joy just president of the independent research national security and military analysts, also fox contributor. doctor grant always good to see you. we have the reports of russians continuing to attack that plant. at the same time they're running into trouble in the east of donbas. what can make pooch and stop this bombardment? he promised he would clearly he has not. >> right, but will make him stop the bombing in mariupol i just don't know. you can seat no one can get to him. if they are still bombing it means they don't feel they have complete control over that area. i think to be the bigger question is what to do about the east. right now everything depends on how fast ukraine can get combat ready with the new heavy weapons that are going in from nato and the u.s. and allies. >> do you think those are getting in fast enough we just saw a turn bite germany were talking about poland from the former eastern european nations, the added billions from the u.s., you think that will get to the ukrainians soon enough to make a difference in the battle of donbas where it's going to be on the open fields and is on the itinerary. >> let's talk about germany has agreed to let ukrainians use the big u.s. military training ranges and the reason is for live training not just here at they get to go at chance to practice and shoot the gun, drive the armored vehicle. it is a critical as they go right back into the front line. bite germany and by other allies are absolutely essential because russia is trying to push forward slowly with shorter lines of communication, not racing had fast and just pounding with their artillery. and so it depends on ukraine and those heavy weapons in quickly to hold that back and prevent ukraine sources being encircled and that donbas region for a. >> think they will be successful? >> it looks like they are the pentagon tells us of the 9155 are already there. there are reports about ukraine having stopped some of the russian offensive. very, very important russia attacked ukraine pushed back a couple days ago and then pushed back on a another area. talented city and roads battle by battle that are going to determine whether ukraine gets the victories here in the east. before then the steel plant that is teetering it is just horrendous. reminds you of the siege there stuck in there there in the bunkers they are down under it we gotten from ukrainians about this for this shows the living conditions look at this you have families, children, babies along with some of the ukrainian militia and soldiers. they are stuck down and there there is nothing they can do. they have been living down there they were told running out of food and water for they cannot even get supplies they are surrounded and being bombarded by the russians. let's listen to one desperate plea from one woman who is in there, here is her message to the white house and to the rest of the world. [inaudible] [speaking native tongue] [speaking native tongue] how can we help them? how can we help them? set face-to-face to putin he said he is going stop it and he hasn't. this don't military reason for putin could get to continue striking that facility. he has made mariupol hell on earth he's doing it to support his own power base and russia. it is inexcusable and i am sorry to say, it shows the weakness of the united nations the un has really failed ukraine. there need to be consequences for russia and every diplomatic institution. but most of all putin has got to lose this war but we have got to help ukraine beat russia. eric: ukraine when, putin lose national security council showing how ineffective it is doctor rebecca grant thinking of those people in trento right now thank pot race thank you. >> consumers coast-to-coast reeling from record high inflation prices on everyday goods from fuel, to food. also going up. and now a disappointing report this week shows the economy shrank in the first quarter of the year after more than a year of rapid growth. president biden dismissing worries about a potential slowdown. i am not concerned about a recession. i meet you are always concerned about a recession but the gdp went 1.4% but here's the deal, we also had last quarter consumer spending and business investment in residential investment increase significant rates both for leisure as well as hard products. >> let's bring in john bussey associate editor at the wall street journal and a fox news contributor, john thank you so much for being here. i would like to pick up for some of the president was saying there's kinda putting a spin little bit of what exec was going on, what is your response we are kind of worried about their session a possible recession but also all these other great things are happening. >> he was taking a look at the first quarter numbers that came out on gdp which showed a 1.4% contraction not expansion but contraction. that is not good news when the economy shrinks. their work and trimming factors there, supply disruption around the world because of covid which has been pushing inflation higher and crimping economies for there were some business inventory buildup. company stocking their warehouses that got pulled into the fourth quarter it was incredibly robust in the last quarter before this one. and so it was lower in the first quarter. that said, he is right about the consumer and business in general pre-consumer spending was almost up 3% which was still very robust. business spending was up over 9% in the first quarter. so the good news is that under that number which will probably get revised the economy is scoring still quite strong. the expectation by economists is that the economy will continue to expand in the full year. this is just one quarter. the bad news is the economy continues to expand on this is the flipside of this the glass half empty. the inflation numbers are still high because the consumer is strong, supply is still crimped, covid is closing factories in china again supply disruptions around the world, a war in ukraine driving up food and energy prices. that is going to lead to some pretty stiff action by the fed. alicia: let's put up this map. this shows the inflation rate and how it is impacting folks in different parts of the country. and if you take a look at this map i think you were getting up your pretty soon, it shows -- depending upon what region you are in the country, you are going to feel it harder parts of someone in colorado, where i am, it is going to be worse than someone say in oregon or someone in alabama. can you explain to folks why it is so different depending on why the inflation rate is different? >> it depends what consumers are buying. chiefly those areas with their supply is getting to them through the most cost effective if they have to go -- if supply has to get to them through additional shipping is going to cost more and therefore the entire pipeline is being inflated by the product is going to be higher for them in those particular regions. if you were to expand that map, you would find it similar colors all around the world. it's not just the u.s. europe also is experiencing some historically high inflation numbers, why? once again covid supply disruptions around the world. a huge amount of pent-up demand on consumers. consumer has lots of household savings at the moment. more than they have had in recent years. they have it there because they have been out doing things during the pandemic. as restrictions are eased your seeing the consumer and step forward hotel occupancy is up, and travel has increased. you are going to see those inflation numbers state pretty stiff. lots of demand, still kind of crimped supply because covid disruptions around the world. that is going to lead the fed to increase interest rates. that is what people have. that is what has people worried about some kind of recession down the road. if the fed gets it wrong, if they have to raise interest rates to high and slow the economy too much then you might see a broader structural recession. >> we have folks you said they have savings, they are spending money, they are making more now because you're getting paid a little more it's a competitive job market out there but at the same time you mention inflation things are costing more they're not feeling something good news that we are seeing. the bottom line whose fault is this? is it president biden's fault or is this outside forces coming into play here? >> politically inflation gets blamed on the person who is in the white house at the moment. that's what happens to politics from the inadequate addressing of the covid crisis you still have covid shutting down pipelines you have it happening again in china, and shanghai the entire city is shutdown that disrupts the ports. that disrupts the consumer goes to the store. so overall it's a supply driven inflation problem people hunkered down during the pandemic. this war in ukraine is not just a european thing. 30% level wheat exports for the world come from ukraine 30% of fertilizers supply commies on the world are suffering. >> my pleasure. >> beat the government so many times he was known as the teflon don. john gotti met his match and the next guest will tell how his underboss, helps able to get that conviction for. >> for two reasons that experience i had i knew all along i had tremendous help. it was the end of the mob as we know it. john gotti choosing to be a celebrity boss, mobilize the fbi against others and john gotti choosing to treasure senator which resulted in him flipping. those two things was a seismic event the underboss of the family decided to switch governments from his government to our government for. >> that is how he said the toad put it to you? >> i first met him a secret meeting with him the jury room he shook my hand and he said i want to switch from my government to your government. that is how he viewed the mob. he thought john gotti had not lived up to the principles of the mob we had to take where he was trashing him which sammy heard snippets up in the detention hearing and he thought john gotti if they beat the case was going to kill him. there were other reasons he flipped but none more important than that one. and i think the best way to characterize the change, the significance was before in junior members of the mob would've flipped which was rare, everybody in the street would say there something wrong with that guy because he flipped. when sammy flipped, the word we got from all of the informants out of the fbi got from all of the informant in the streets was if sammy flipped, that must mean there's something wrong with the mob. and it really is true that the mob did not disappear completely, but to those events the fbi knows what it is doing, bringing the fbi down on all of the families and then flipping, really did and the mob as we knew it. eric: finally he has a podcast, he has a website called sammy the bull.com for scott podcast and fox nation we have our shows that cma showing of course jimmy >> hello i am in for arthel. two other big stories we are following this hour the far left still melting down over elon musk and twitter what are the most prominent names in an online feud with the social media giants new owner. and the countdown continues to the end of trump eric title 42 covid restrictions at the border. a federal judge put a temporary hold on lifting the measure is the administration faces pressure from all sides. we have fox news team coverage brian at the southern border, nate foy on the battle over twitter and free speech. but first to alexandria hoff life of what you might call crisis central, the white house. >> there is a lot going on. this week president biden said he is not concerned about a recession right now. he did say he is concerned about the possibility of a recession next year even without economic concerns right now, this has been a busy week here at the white house. several bidens cabinet members were grilled on capitol hill on gas prices, crime and the southern border. the homeland security secretary janet t was question on the plant entitled 42 it was revealed the department had created a disinformation board. a woman named nina at the helm. including ron desantis quickly raised concern about this. >> we know they actually appointed somebody to lead it who herself has been an advocate covid at lockdowns. who herself has put out this information about the hunter biden tapes, who supported russia collusion conspiracy theories. and so, this is not acceptable. >> online post in a very animated video soon emerged expressing her political views in the past this is her concern over the objectivity of what kind of information will be discounted under the new board the court into the white house it's intention is to stop disinformation from traveling around the country particularly as it relates to terrorism and smuggling. >> there is no question, everybody has bipartisan support for that to address disinformation that is helping smugglers pushing -- helping people migrate or providing false information prompting people to migrate. >> the white house did defend it saying she was highly qualified for this position. at the same time offered to some distance saying hiring is completely up to the department of homeland security. eric: elon musk twitter take over he's also taken over twitter. certain progressive near congresswoman among the many who cannot stop tweeting about the free speech they are afraid they will lose or confident they will gain after the tesla and space ex- ceo big buyout of the social media platform goes through just as musk has sold a billions and tesla chairs to help fund his controversy will deal with the latest on mr. musk in the two weeks and who is tweeting about him, hi nay. >> congresswoman alexandria oscasion-cortez is tweeting about them criticizing musk on twitter but so far it's been quote stop flirting to me it's a reference to the congresswoman sang her republican critics cannot date hurts or the tweet the congresswoman tweeted quote track tired to have to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening because some billionaire than ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because tucker carlson or peter took them to dinner and made him feel special. musk responded saying again quote stop hating on me i'm really shy but he added a blushing emoji there. initially alicia said she is on but facebook ceo mark zuckerberg. but this morning she is doubling down on the initial tweet writing just after 10:00 a.m. this morning quote like i said, ego problems. she then commented on her own post saying she tries to avoid giving people with massive ego complexes the intention they crave. but in this case she just could not help yourself. the world's richest man in spacex is working to finalize a 44 billion-dollar takeover of twitter pretty is on the hook personally to come up with $21 billion to finance the deal for this week musk sold roughly $8.4 billion of tesla shares that's according to filings with the securities and exchange commission. musk promises to make twitter a safe haven first free speech she wants to build trust by making the algorithms open source and says the platform must remain politically neutral. will send it back to erica. eric: thank you very much. alicia: funeral services held today for fallen texas national guard men bishop evans he died trying to say to migrants crossing the rio grand river last week. meanwhile prison bided met virtually with mexico president yesterday. as concerns grow over terminating title 42 brevet trump era border policy left agents send migrants back to mexico over pandemic concerns. brian is live and eagle pass, texas. >> good afternoon wish i live footage from the foxnews of drone over the rio grande river between mexico. this has been the site where thousands of migrants have illegally crossed into the u.s. across that river and numbers we have never seen before but both cities, leaders from both cities tell me they feel abandoned by the federal government at this moment. we visited earlier this morning and we saw for ourselves where migrants go and how they are living. >> this is the central ground they every single morning hundreds of migrants line appear for a warm meal, shower, a phone call, some hope or bertolotti's migrants are trying to make things work out here. but the situation is desperate. >> some of these immigrants have been there since 2021 but conditions are rough. some sleep and abandoned homes others in churches for their trying to find work but sometimes they can make $5 a day. others say they have tried to come in illegally and have been deported back. some say they are trying to come in legally there hoping for title 422 and on may 23 but we were told -- we asked some people migrants they told us there hearing rumors the end of title 42 on may 23 may make it easier for them to try to come into the united states on a legal pass. look at these numbers border patrol was averaging about 1500 encounters a day at the southwest border. today it is 7800. a title 42 ends it's number could be 18000 a day. we have witnessed immigrants being dropped off at the foot bridge border security and sent right back into mexico under title 42. governor greg abbott in texas state leadership yesterday approved another half billion dollars in new funding for a no over 4 billion-dollar operation loan start which was launched last march by the government to try to beef up border security. almost all that money is going towards the 10,000 national guardsmen that had been deployed here, putting up wire in helping overwhelm border patrol. but despite these efforts migrants are still finding a way to come here. we witnessed a man yesterday who risked it all, swim 50 yards across the rio grande into eagle pass, texas. he made it safely. but some two dozen migrants have drowned reportedly in the last month attempting to do the same thing. right now funeral services are underway in arlington, texas for 2022-year-old national guard specialists bishop evans who drowned trying to save to migrants in the rio grande river pretty spot it was discovered four days later the texas tribune reports, evans did not have the proper flotation devices and that is because from what they are reporting, the national guardsmen here have still not received that kind of equipment despite the fact they are at saving people in the rio grande river. almost very consistently at this point. alicia: absolutely terrible. bryan llenas live at the border and in the past, texas. thank you. eric: of investigating the attack at the u.s. capitol since they presented the report in the final hearing that in september. that after the committee says it will be holding eight hearings in june, each of those hearings focusing on a specific theme. the committee push those hearings back from next month they want to conduct more witness interviews for the hearings will be held in prime time we are told and daytime hours for the nation to watch. like the watergate hearings during the nixon administration for the panel, as you know, has been probing any connection or planning by president trump or trump administration or trump political officials and supporters. any connection between them and the assault on american democracy that date that was aimed at trying to stop the counting of electoral votes and overturned the 2020 presidential election. >> officials in kansas are still assessing what they say it was very bad damage caused by powerful tornado that touched on east of wichita last night. knocking out power to more than 6500 homes. emergency crews say they have already restored power to about 85% of those customers. officials say nearly 1000 structures were in the tornado's path and some homes were completely blown away. luckily no deaths and only a few injuries were reported. >> that is amazing for the russian forces attacked another airport in southern ukraine this is ukrainian forces in the east continued their battle and people are pleading for help we will show you those please coming up and griff jenkins will have the very latest from kyiv in a moment. rebecca grant joy just president of the independent research national security and military analysts, also fox contributor. doctor grant always good to see you. we have the reports of russians continuing to attack that plant. at the same time they're running into trouble in the east of donbas. what can make pooch and stop this bombardment? he promised he would clearly he has not. >> right, but will make him stop the bombing in mariupol i just don't know. you can seat no one can get to him. if they are still bombing it means they don't feel they have complete control over that area. i think to be the bigger question is what to do about the east. right now everything depends on how fast ukraine can get combat ready with the new heavy weapons that are going in from nato and the u.s. and allies. >> do you think those are getting in fast enough we just saw a turn bite germany were talking about poland from the former eastern european nations, the added billions from the u.s., you think that will get to the ukrainians soon enough to make a difference in the battle of donbas where it's going to be on the open fields and is on the itinerary. >> let's talk about germany has agreed to let ukrainians use the big u.s. military training ranges and the reason is for live training not just here at they get to go at chance to practice and shoot the gun, drive the armored vehicle. it is a critical as they go right back into the front line. bite germany and by other allies are absolutely essential because russia is trying to push forward slowly with shorter lines of communication, not racing had fast and just pounding with their artillery. and so it depends on ukraine and those heavy weapons in quickly to hold that back and prevent ukraine sources being encircled and that donbas region for a. >> think they will be successful? >> it looks like they are the pentagon tells us of the 9155 are already there. there are reports about ukraine having stopped some of the russian offensive. very, very important russia attacked ukraine pushed back a couple days ago and then pushed back on a another area. talented city and roads battle by battle that are going to determine whether ukraine gets the victories here in the east. before then the steel plant that is teetering it is just horrendous. reminds you of the siege there stuck in there there in the bunkers they are down under it we gotten from ukrainians about this for this shows the living conditions look at this you have families, children, babies along with some of the ukrainian militia and soldiers. they are stuck down and there there is nothing they can do. they have been living down there they were told running out of food and water for they cannot even get supplies they are surrounded and being bombarded by the russians. let's listen to one desperate plea from one woman who is in there, here is her message to the white house and to the rest of the world. [inaudible] [speaking native tongue] [speaking native tongue] how can we help them? how can we help them? set face-to-face to putin he said he is going stop it and he hasn't. this don't military reason for putin could get to continue striking that facility. he has made mariupol hell on earth he's doing it to support his own power base and russia. it is inexcusable and i am sorry to say, it shows the weakness of the united nations the un has really failed ukraine. there need to be consequences for russia and every diplomatic institution. but most of all putin has got to lose this war but we have got to help ukraine beat russia. eric: ukraine when, putin lose national security council showing how ineffective it is doctor rebecca grant thinking of those people in trento right now thank you. alicia: americans are digging even deeper to pay for gas, food and rent. coming up wall street journal associate editor tells us if we have reason to fear a recession is coming, that is next. treasurer josh and author jd, vance wright holding the lead mark meredith with the very latest on this race, he is in newark, ohio with the latest. >> eric, good afternoon to you. jd vance said he's not getting complacent even the mention the polls showing him as a leader right now in this race. and ever since then there's a lot of focus on potential political career so the endorsement of president donald trump. is not chump who he is campaigning with two other gop notable names including georges and florida congressman matt gates both were something alongside of him earlier today. now, there's always a chance on these moderate republican voters may be considering will not necessarily embrace this kind of visit with the national figures. says he's looking to all the help he can we also asked him about his change into and when it comes to donald trump because it wasn't that long ago that he said he was not a fan of trump or the mega movement. now that is all changed. >> is not really what he said about trump six years ago was about whether or not they can trust. i think i'm telling people they can trust me. >> not to be outdone former ohio state treasurer josh mandel is campaigning with senator ted cruz holding multiple events this weekend mandel told us even though he is kind of slipped in the polls recently he still is confident his volunteers can drive out the people are eager to see what's going to happen in ohio because it could be what these other contest look like going forward whether trump endorsement era made a difference or not. eric: 's exciting pot race thank you. >> consumers coast-to-coast reeling from record high inflation prices on everyday goods from fuel, to food. also going up. and now a disappointing report this week shows the economy shrank in the first quarter of the year after more than a year of rapid growth. president biden dismissing worries about a potential slowdown. i am not concerned about a recession. i meet you are always concerned about a recession but the gdp went 1.4% but here's the deal, we also had last quarter consumer spending and business investment in residential investment increase significant rates both for leisure as well as hard products. >> let's bring in john bussey associate editor at the wall street journal and a fox news contributor, john thank you so much for being here. i would like to pick up for some of the president was saying there's kinda putting a spin little bit of what exec was going on, what is your response we are kind of worried about their session a possible recession but also all these other great things are happening. >> he was taking a look at the first quarter numbers that came out on gdp which showed a 1.4% contraction not expansion but contraction. that is not good news when the economy shrinks. their work and trimming factors there, supply disruption around the world because of covid which has been pushing inflation higher and crimping economies for there were some business inventory buildup. company stocking their warehouses that got pulled into the fourth quarter it was incredibly robust in the last quarter before this one. and so it was lower in the first quarter. that said, he is right about the consumer and business in general pre-consumer spending was almost up 3% which was still very robust. business spending was up over 9% in the first quarter. so the good news is that under that number which will probably get revised the economy is scoring still quite strong. the expectation by economists is that the economy will continue to expand in the full year. this is just one quarter. the bad news is the economy continues to expand on this is the flipside of this the glass half empty. the inflation numbers are still high because the consumer is strong, supply is still crimped, covid is closing factories in china again supply disruptions around the world, a war in ukraine driving up food and energy prices. that is going to lead to some pretty stiff action by the fed. alicia: let's put up this map. this shows the inflation rate and how it is impacting folks in different parts of the country. and if you take a look at this map i think you were getting up your pretty soon, it shows -- depending upon what region you are in the country, you are going to feel it harder parts of someone in colorado, where i am, it is going to be worse than someone say in oregon or someone in alabama. can you explain to folks why it is so different depending on why the inflation rate is different? >> it depends what consumers are buying. chiefly those areas with their supply is getting to them through the most cost effective if they have to go -- if supply has to get to them through additional shipping is going to cost more and therefore the entire pipeline is being inflated by the product is going to be higher for them in those particular regions. if you were to expand that map, you would find it similar colors all around the world. it's not just the u.s. europe also is experiencing some historically high inflation numbers, why? once again covid supply disruptions around the world. a huge amount of pent-up demand on consumers. consumer has lots of household savings at the moment. more than they have had in recent years. they have it there because they have been out doing things during the pandemic. as restrictions are eased your seeing the consumer and step forward hotel occupancy is up, and travel has increased. you are going to see those inflation numbers state pretty stiff. lots of demand, still kind of crimped supply because covid disruptions around the world. that is going to lead the fed to increase interest rates. that is what people have. that is what has people worried about some kind of recession down the road. if the fed gets it wrong, if they have to raise interest rates to high and slow the economy too much then you might see a broader structural recession. >> we have folks you said they have savings, they are spending money, they are making more now because you're getting paid a little more it's a competitive job market out there but at the same time you mention inflation things are costing more they're not feeling something good news that we are seeing. the bottom line whose fault is this? is it president biden's fault or is this outside forces coming into play here? >> politically inflation gets blamed on the person who is in the white house at the moment. that's what happens to politics from the inadequate addressing of the covid crisis you still have covid shutting down pipelines you have it happening again in china, and shanghai the entire city is shutdown that disrupts the ports. that disrupts the consumer goes to the store. so overall it's a supply driven inflation problem people hunkered down during the pandemic. this war in ukraine is not just a european thing. 30% level wheat exports for the world come from ukraine 30% of fertilizers supply interaction with john gotti. standing about a bunch of people around them. it was a very unique time in the history of our city in the history of organized crime. never had a celebrity boss before. never sought law enforcement mobilize the way it did because he basically stuck his finger in the eye of the fbi. and i knew, the minute we convicted him i knew i had to write the stuff down pretty century to finish it. i'm happy i finished it and figured i would publish it. before what is the meaning of that prosecution, the mafia and gotti what he did to the government? and the fact you're able to get that conviction for. >> for two reasons that experience i had i knew all along i had tremendous help. it was the end of the mob as we know it. john gotti choosing to be a celebrity boss, mobilize the fbi against others and john gotti choosing to treasure senator which resulted in him flipping. those two things was a seismic event the underboss of the family decided to switch governments from his government to our government for. >> that is how he said the toad put it to you? >> i first met him a secret meeting with him the jury room he shook my hand and he said i want to switch from my government to your government. that is how he viewed the mob. he thought john gotti had not lived up to the principles of the mob we had to take where he was trashing him which sammy heard snippets up in the detention hearing and he thought john gotti if they beat the case was going to kill him. there were other reasons he flipped but none more important than that one. and i think the best way to characterize the change, the significance was before in junior members of the mob would've flipped which was rare, everybody in the street would say there something wrong with that guy because he flipped. when sammy flipped, the word we got from all of the informants out of the fbi got from all of the informant in the streets was if sammy flipped, that must mean there's something wrong with the mob. and it really is true that the mob did not disappear completely, but to those events the fbi knows what it is doing, bringing the fbi down on all of the families and then flipping, really did and the mob as we knew it. eric: finally he has a podcast, he has a website called sammy the bull.com for scott podcast and fox nation we have our shows that cma showing of course jimmy
