STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A New Brighton man has been indicted on murder charges in the fatal shooting four months ago of a 34-year-old victim who was attending a memorial gathering in his community.
Tyler Carmon, 26, of the 100 block of Prospect Avenue, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday in state Supreme Court, St. George.
Prosecutors allege Carmon gunned down Cedric (Ced) Black on Sept. 15 while Black was at a memorial site on Jersey Street between Crescent Avenue and Carlyle Street.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A 25-year-old man was arraigned Tuesday in the fatal shooting of Cedric Black at a memorial site in New Brighton.
Tyler Carmon, of Manor Road in Castleton Corners, was arraigned in Criminal Court in St. George on charges that include murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
He has been remanded to jail.
Black, 34, was attending a memorial gathering on Jersey Street near Crescent Avenue on Sept. 15 in honor of a 21-year-old man in the neighborhood who suffered the same fate a day earlier.

A 25-year-old man faces multiple charges after allegedly gunning down a 34-year-old man who was attending a New Brighton memorial for a shooting victim in September.
Tyler Carmon, 25, a resident of the 500 block of Manor Road in Castleton Corners, was charged Thursday with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm, according to a statement from the NYPD.
