Two Freshmen Score as Tigers Shutout Wolverines

OREM, Utah - Freshman Dani Davis scored her first-collegiate goal, and freshman Jenna Tobia netted her second of the season to propel the No. 19 ranked Clemson Women’s Soccer team to a 2-0 victory against the Utah Valley Wolverines in Orem, Utah on Thursday evening. The Tigers applied pressure early and the Clemson defense kept Utah Valley on edge to allow senior Halle Mackiewicz to finish with four saves for her third clean sheet of the season. “From a work ethic perspective, we are pleased with what we have done. Scored two goals, Halle as our goalkeeper, made a couple great saves and keeps a clean sheet. No 25 Clemson Runs Past Gardner-Webb, 9-0

CLEMSON, S.C. – Six different Tigers scored a goal and No. 25 Clemson downed Gardner-Webb 9-0 for the first win of the season at Historic Riggs Field. Clemson recorded a school-record 58 shots on the night and the Tigers held Gardner-Webb scoreless, shotless, and cornerless on the night.  The Tigers opened the scoring quickly, with Mackenzie Duff netting her first goal of the season in the second minute of the game, assisted by Jenna Tobia. Tigers Draw with Syracuse Friday Night

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Clemson women’s soccer team (7-4-3, 3-3-1 ACC) picked up a point on the road with a draw against Syracuse (8-5-2, 1-4-2) 1-1 on Friday night at SU Soccer Stadium.  The Orange started off strong in the first half, earning three corner kicks in the first 15 minutes, but Clemson’s defense held strong to keep things at bay. The Tigers took control soon after as sophomore Renee Lyles took advantage of a rebound off the Syracuse goalkeeper and buried the ball into the bottom right corner of the net in the 17th minute for her fourth goal of the season. Clemson held onto the 1-0 advantage heading into the second half.  Each team had many opportunities in the first 45 minutes as Clemson registered nine shots and seven corner kicks while Syracuse recorded six shots and four corner kicks.  Both teams scrapped in the second half as junior goalkeeper Halle Mackiewicz came up big with some important saves as the Clemson defense held strong until the Orange’s offense bro
