Jose, we are very unhealthy. Whats the problem with this smoke . Why cant we get it to clear out . A couple of things we are looking at here. The main thing is the wind. The surface wind is taking the smoke. Continually smoke from the north to the south that past several days. The winds are relatively light. Lets take it one step further. I think this is really going to explain this for us. It is all about whats known as an in versiversion layer. It is warm air higher up in the atmosphere. Then on top of that you have some cooler air surfacing thats pushing the air right on down towards ground level. So we have High Pressure producing this and colder air at the surface and all of that thats getting stuck down here across the bay area. But, i am tracking two different systems thatll help potentially stir up the air. Well have more details on that coming up in about 15 minutes. Very good graphic. Good explanation, jeff. It is an eye opening few days. First from our san bruno camera. The
It looks like into the weekend. This is the biggest fog bank in recent memory. A big surge on the low cloud deck. That tells you we are in a stratis cool pattern. 60s and 70s and 80s inland. Onshore breeze for just about everybody from the Golden Gate Bridge all the way out to the delta. Thats a big fog bank. Temperatures near average. It is 7 01 a. M. Are we okay out there . We had an earlier accident at ashby avenue. There was a crash in berkeley at ashby. We can see traffic will be slow here. A 30 minute delay about 10 minutes more than usual. The accident has been cleared. You can definitely tell it is causing a delay. People did not show up at the same rate. They were stuck behind the backup. As a result it is lighter. This might actually get a little bit busier as the morning wears on. We will see what happens in the next hour. Lets get back to the headlines. Lets get you updated on breaking news out of San Francisco. A power outage is affecting about 4000 customers in the lower

Today is the day we level us cooldown yesterday. If you are in inland, concord, river moore, you didnt. Let me show you what it looks like on our camera. We have a light reflecting on the bottom of the clouds. That tells you what the marine layer is looking like this morning. We have a deck of low grade covering a good part of the bay itself. Bu extending too far inland. Numbers have us in the low 60s, it is 61 for concord and oakland, 85 in livermore. And 53 in santa rosa, it is nice to see those temperatures get into the mid50s. For inland locations, that is a good sign for the daytime high later today. As we take a look at where we are going for the city officially, we will hit 67. That will be 3 degrees cooler than where we were yesterday for the daytime high. So a little cooldown still for the cities and areas around the bay, keeping us in the 60s. Look at the numbers inland, 84, that is it. How do up near 100 yesterday for most inland locations. Today it will be the mid80s. In ad
