Trade winds are blowing on the eve of the 2021 NFL Draft.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports “The #Panthers are trading QB Teddy Bridgewater to the #Broncos for a sixth-round draft pick, per source. Carolina will pay a portion of Bridgewater’s 2021 compensation as part of a restructured contract to finalize the deal to Denver, which now has competition for Drew Lock … and options with the No. 9 pick. The #Panthers get the 191st overall pick in this year’s draft in exchange for QB Teddy Bridgewater, per source, as well as cap flexibility in 2021 and 2022. The #Broncos get a quarterback their new GM, George Paton, knows well from Minnesota.”

General manager Dave Gettleman said that he’s “comfortable” with the Giants’ six draft picks this year, and you should believe him. There is no need to re-litigate his history of never trading back in the NFL Draft, but the general assumption should be that the Giants won’t be trading back at all this year to bump that number up from six.
