protestors take to the streets in oakland forth second time in less than a week. their anger again directed at police. good evening everyone. the demonstration forced the closure of the fruitvale bart station tonight. that s where oscar grant was shot and killed by a bart police officer nearly two years ago but tonight protest was organized because of the death of this man, derek jones jones, unarmed barber shop owner shot by oakland police monday night. lee ann is live with the story tonight. lee ann. reporter: well dan right before protestors got to this bart station, bart police decided to shut it down. the now there was no violence. there were no arrests. just a lot of unknowns. the march started at the barber shop in oakland owned by 37-year-old derek jones. his family and friends tried to find a reason for his fatal shooting. i m hurt. i m hurt. i m hurt. take away somebody p.just was about can t even express, you know. reporter: it was a long walk to the fru
and then he has gone to the san francisco hospital. he will return to the jail. he was having marital problems, and extreme depression and a camp for borrowing prob point. and i boiling point. -deborah here you see here,t crag valentino. this began early this morning at carlos valentino s home in antioch. officials told his 16 year- old daughter that i went to breakfast and this is what happened. sheet noticed that he was acting a bit unusual and-she noticed that they had no idea with a rolling. at 7:00 a.m., he stopped and the upper deck of the bay bridge and called 911 and said he had a bomb in his car. and you can see traffic was halted in the upper deck of the bay bridge, shut down. hundreds of cars were trapped on the bridge and here is what the c h p, happened next. a handgun, a similar ad was leaving us in the air with this type of motion. and officials said the carlos valentino turned the weapon which turned out to be a pellet gun and over the bridge and his
low 70s. now sal with an update on your traffic. there is about accident westbound 580. this accident involving a motorcycle down. several vehicles have stopped to assist the injured person. the fire department is making its way through the backup now. stbound 580 west ostlermore airport. 880 north and southbound that traffic moves well at the coliseum. let s go back to the desk. thank you. san jose police are asking for the publics help to track down a suspect that beat up two good samaritans. the two men were trying to help a woman that was also being assaulted. this happened on north first in devine. tara moriarty is there with more details on the story. good morning. reporter: good morning. two men were walking out of this restaurant called teske s at 2:00 in the morning the day before halloween. they noticed a man beating up a woman. they immediately jumped in to try to help her but ended up becoming victims themselves. the restaurant owners had just closed his doo
jones in his neighborhood monday night. we werep,v b oe scene live with the story. lee ann. hi dan. it was somewhat of a small crowd that gathered here this evening. family of 37-year-old derek jones obviously very emotional and now theçó+oz:ñ3 march began at e shop on bancroft avenue. pretty long distance from there to the fruitvale bart station where grant was killed by a bart police officer on january 1st of 2009. the people came to honor the lives of both jones and grant and to protest against oakland police. as the march continued police began blocking self streets while keeping an eye on the protestors who, by the way, i have to say kept it very peaceful. when they arrived at the fruitvale station bart decided to close the station. the reason they say was his to ensure the safety of every passenger and safety of the protestors. so at that point there was no service to and from that station until shortly after 6:00 p.m. when protesttors left and it was reopened. n
