pg&e engineers about the deadly san bruno pipeline explosion. this is a rare public hearing in the nation s capital. it s expected to last about three days. the september 9 blast killed 8 people and destroyed dozens of homes. today 8 pg&e official will face federal investigators and answer questions about the blast, the pipeline and whether the utility company should have known it posed a potentially deadly threat. it s part of the national transportation safety board s full scale investigation into the disaster. the board is expected to issue a final report on what likely caused the blast about 6 months from now. but today we ll get a sneak peek when they release thousands of pages of documents relating to the investigation. and it s going to be very interesting to see what those documents say about the blast and also what pg&e engineers will say with their testimony. we ll be watching the hearing and bringing you the latest that s coming up in a few minutes. lots of quest

authorities tell us the teen disappeared sunday morning after he sent his girlfriend some text messages saying that he wanted to take his own life. now he may be armed with his father s handgun. they also say he may be near the intersection of adeline an 12th in oakland. if you come across the little boy don t approach him but call the sheriff s office immediately. still searching for answers after last year s deadly san bruno explosion and tomorrow federal investigators will do something they haven t done in 11 years, a public inquiry. a three-day hearing beginning tomorrow by the national transportation safety board. it runs through thursday. so far they have collected 47,000 pages of interviews and reports stemming from last fall s explosion, and they expect even more. observers say it could affect pipeline safety laws across the country. executives at pg & e will offer testimony in this sworn hearing along with 20 other witnesses. the ntsb will ask how the utility opera
