Our Correspondent Diphu, Sep.30 (EMN): Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) held a supplementary budget session on Friday relating to payment of outstanding liabilities under Primary Education department, PWD and Works department. Chief Executive Member (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang, who placed the supplementary budget under various heads of accounts, said the original grant of budgetary allocation for the administration of justices for setting up of village courts as per the Mikir Hills Autonomous District (Administration of Justice) Rules 1954, was INR 167 lakh, but an additional amount of INR 335.20 lakh is required to meet the expenses. Our Correspondent Diphu, Aug. 27 (EMN): Following a meeting between Assam and Meghalaya committee on Aug. 21 to solve disputes in six remaining border areas between the two states, the Joint coordination for Committee for Protection of Autonomy (JCCPA) said that the boundary issue in Karbi Anglong has already been resolved in 1951 and there is no need to re-open it again. In a press conference held at the residence of Saising Rongpi, Rongmongve in Diphu on Saturday, the convenor, JCCPA, Kharsing Teron said that the two governments have claimed that they have already resolved in 6 areas and signed a pack on March 29, 2022.
