Karbi Anglong to get projects worth more than INR 2000 crore

DIPHU Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will be laying various developmental foundation stones worth INR 2503.91 crore in Karbi Anglong, said Amarsing Tisso, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Executive Member (EM) in a press conference held at KAAC, New secretariat building here on Wednesday.  ‘Assam CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Minister of Hills Area Department Jugen Mohan and PHE Minister Jayanta Baruah are coming down to Taralangso, Diphu on Thursday to lay the foundation stones. The Assam government has given a developmental scheme for Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council for roads and medical, while distribution of ICDS kits and centres will also be held. Apart from this, another 200 Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) centres for Karbi Anglong through a special package from the Assam government will be given. KAAC nominated members administered oath of office

Our Correspondent Diphu, July 8 (EMN): The four nominated Members of Autonomous Council (MAC) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KACC) were administered the oath of office here on Friday. The election to the 26 seats of the KAAC was held on June 8, where all the seats were won by BJP. The KAAC, governed under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India, can induct four as nominated members. The four nominated members namely Phenpiga Rengma, former chairman of Sports and Youth Development Board, KAAC; Mukut Mahanta, former MAC from Deopani; Dr. Mongve Rongpi and Krishna Bahadur Bhatarai Chetry were administered the oath of office by the deputy commissioner, Dibakar Nath, on behalf of the Governor of Assam, held at the auditorium of new KAAC Secretariat building on Friday.
