STEUBENVILLE Members of City Council never had the opportunity to thank former Mayor Domenick Mucci Jr. for his service to the community when he stepped down from the post three years ago.
They made up for that during Tuesday’s meeting, offering a resolution recognizing him for the 36 years he spent in city government and his other work in the community.
“It has taken us three years to do this,” said 5th Ward Councilman Willie Paul while making the presentation. ....

TENURE COMPLETE — The Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities will lose two longtime members as board President Lorie Sullivan, left, and Vice President James Morgan complete their tenures on Wednesday. STEUBENVILLE Two longtime members of the Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities will wind down their tenures on Wednesday after a combined 34 years of service.
Board President Lorie Sullivan and Vice President James Morgan both completed their term limits on the board of directors but still have the opportunity to serve again in the future. Sullivan, who joined 16 years ago, participated as the parent of a School of Bright Promise student while Morgan, who has served for the past 18 years, was asked to get involved by JCBDD officials. ....

Eleanor Ruth Naylor passed away at home on the evening of December 11, 2020.
She was born on September 18, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Albert Pavlik, Sr. and Anna Homulka Pavlik.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas F. Naylor, Sr., an infant daughter Mary, and her brother Albert Pavlik, Jr.
She grew up on the North Side of Pittsburgh and went to kindergarten speaking fluent Slovak before learning English. She attended Horace Mann Elementary School and later David B. Oliver High School. She attended the University of Pittsburgh, earned a B.S. in Business Administration and met her soul mate, Douglas F. Naylor, Sr. ....
