From staff reports MINGO JUNCTION Faculty and staff at Indian Creek Local Schools will be obtaining vaccinations during the next week in the latest move to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Superintendent T.C. Chappelear informed board members during a brief session on Thursday that roughly 140 employees will receive their shots on Thursday in the Indian Creek High School gym in cooperation with the Jefferson County Health Department. “We will have a vaccination day on Thursday,” he said. “We will have a remote learning day that day to help facilitate the vaccinations.” In other business, officials hope to return to more in-person classes for the remainder of the year and are already setting their sights on graduation. Chappelear said they also plan to hold commencement exercises this spring. Following the ceremony, held inside the Jefferson County Justice Center, Corabi reflected on his career that spanned 30 years on the bench. ....
Staff writer Frank Noble Jr. took his oath of office Monday as Jefferson County probate and juvenile judge inside the Jefferson County Justice Center. Noble was unopposed in the Nov. 3 election. Outgoing Judge Joseph Corabi, whom Noble served with as a magistrate, delivered the oath and called Noble “a leader” and “the perfect judge,” stating his time working with Noble was “the privilege of a lifetime.” Noble thanked his family, Corabi, the court staffs. “I will do everything in my power to do the best that I can for the kids of Jefferson County, the citizens of Jefferson County and for all of (the court staff),” Noble said. ....

(Contributed photo) STEUBENVILLE Two longtime members of the Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities will wind down their tenures on Wednesday after a combined 34 years of service. Board President Lorie Sullivan and Vice President James Morgan both completed their term limits on the board of directors but still have the opportunity to serve again in the future. Sullivan, who joined 16 years ago, participated as the parent of a School of Bright Promise student while Morgan, who has served for the past 18 years, was asked to get involved by JCBDD officials. ....
