Gareth Bale pens 15-year deal for Elevens Bar & Grill Ahead of its reopening, Champions League winning footballer Gareth Bale has signed a new 15-year lease for his Cardiff city centre venue, Elevens Bar & Grill. Elevens opened in May 2017 following an extensive redevelopment of the S.A Brain-owned venue on Castle Street – a new partnership between the brewery and the newly formed Elevens Group. In December 2020, S.A. Brain announced that contracts had been exchanged with Marston’s plc. to operate its portfolio of pubs in Wales. As a result of these operational changes, Elevens has now become a fully independent venture, co-owned by Wales and Tottenham star Gareth Bale and his business partner Jamie Humphrys, with S.A Brain as landlords. ....
Well-known Chelsea pub The Cadogan Arms is to relaunch in July with Kitchen Table chef James Knappett overseeing the food. Dominic Jacobs of The Running Horse Mayfair is spearheading the project as managing director having raised capital from a number of private investors, including Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina Sethi, the founders of JKS Restaurants and backers of Knappett at Kitchen Table. Overseeing the menu as culinary director, Knappett will draw inspiration from his first-hand experience of growing up in pubs. He will work alongside executive chef Alex Harper, whose CV includes The Ledbury and The Harwood Arms - to ‘cement the public house’s food offering as one of London’s most celebrated with best-in-class British produce’. ....

Five years on, the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant has launched Cash & Kari, a Sri Lankan ‘corner shop’ for modern times – and they deliver to Manchester. The online store sells meal kits, restaurant-blend curry powders, Sri Lankan spices, ready-to-drink cocktails, and Hoppers’ own-brew beers, all with nationwide delivery. “Just like Hoppers was inspired by the toddy shops and street food stalls in Sri Lanka and South India, Cash & Kari emulates the small family-run shops in towns and cities across the region – selling their own blend of spices, batters, snacks and homemade drinks,” said Hoppers director Karan Gokani about the launch of Cash & Kari. ....
