Jacob Hancher’s life after he was shot while responding to a call last year. SPECIAL COVERAGE | Hancher and Ptl. Andrew Wangstad were the first to respond to a domestic call on Oct. 3 in the 400 block of 14th Avenue South when shots were fired. Hancher was killed as a result of the shooting, while Wangstad, was shot in the leg.

Woman faces more felonies from pursuit | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff Writer ELKINS A Mill Creek woman who allegedly led police on a high-speed chase Tuesday afternoon is now facing additional felony charges. Stevie Drew Fox, 33, who is currently incarcerated in the Tygarts Valley Regional Jail on cash-only bonds totaling $80,000, is now facing charges of fleeing in a vehicle while DUI (controlled substance) and grand larceny, in addition to a charge of fleeing in a vehicle with reckless indifference. The bonds were set by Randolph County Magistrate Mike Dyer. Corporal E.B. Carr of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant for medical records at Davis Medical Center related to Tuesday’s incident. Based on the medical records, a drug screen of Fox was completed and indicated a positive result for amphetamine/methamphetamine, police said. Fox was in law enforcement custody from the time she was apprehended until the test was conducted.

Local woman charged after 120 mph police pursuit | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff Writer MILL CREEK A Mill Creek woman is behind bars after leading police officers on a high-speed pursuit Tuesday afternoon, after allegedly striking another woman with the vehicle she was driving. Stevie Drew Fox, 33, has been charged with fleeing in a vehicle with reckless indifference, a felony, and is currently incarcerated in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail. At approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday, Randolph County Sheriff Rob Elbon and Corporal E.B. Carr received a call saying a vehicle had struck a person at Fox’s Lumber Mill in Mill Creek and that the automobile was being operated by Fox, according to the criminal complaint, prepared by Elbon.

Superconference to be Showcased in Friday's Shoot Out | KCII Radio

The Southeast Iowa Superconference Shoot Out is here for area girls teams. The annual event happens at the end of the conference season for both boys and girls squads where teams are paired together based on their finish in the north and south division standings for one contest. The defacto championship game features the winners of the south division West Burlington and north division champions Winfield-Mt. Union. The Lady Wolves come into the game unbeaten on the year at 16-0 and a perfect 10-0 in the SEISC. The Wolves are ranked No. 9 in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. In their last game they got by Louisa-Muscatine 44-43 with Farrah Nelson’s 11 point 10 rebound double double. On the season, WMU is led by Bradie Buffington at nine points per game, Nelson’s seven boards per contest, and Kyndal Townsley’s three assists and two steals per night. West Burlington is 17-1 overall, 14-1 in the Superconference. They beat Cardinal on Tuesday 79-38. On
