Temperatures are on the rise and it looks fabulous in green. I want to talk about what is going on because we have those wildfires burning this morning and i want to get to the current conditions. The hennessey fire is burning to the east of st. Helena and right now, temperatures are in the mid50s. Firefighters are against some warm conditions. The good news is there are calm winds this morning. For the marsh fire, burning east, temperatures are in the mid80s and winds northwest at six miles an hour. Mary has another check of the forecast in a couple of minutes. Back to fire watch, or keeping an eye on a wildfire burning in Santa Cruz County that has doubled in size. It broke out north of davenport and flames have gone through 120 acres and it is 20 contained. The river fire continues to burn in the hills of south of salina, at least six structures have been destroyed and 1500 others are being threatened. We are lucky that we have kept all the houses right here. My brother is across the canyon and it came through that brush yesterday. I have never seen anything like that. Cal fire says that area is not safe for people to come back to but they hope to have a timeline for returning in the next few hours. I am michelle griego. I am len keise. Lets get to meteorologist mary lee with the hot forecast. Here we go, we are looking at our extreme heat continuing for us today and with it, with those daytime highs, likely tying or breaking records. We have some cooling centers open. Santa rosa will have them from 11 00 to 7 00 four people trying to get some relief from the heat at Rincon Valley library and the Salvation Army senior center. If you do go out there, you will need to wear your mask as well as social distance. In santa rosa, highs are in the triple digits. It is 104 in concord and around the bay, low to mid 80s. 80 for San Francisco and 86 for oakland. Because of this extreme heat, excessive heat warnings remain in effect due to this persistent and dangerous heat and it remains in effect not just for today but actually through 9 00 wednesday. So we are still looking at the heat and going to cool down a little bit. Temperatures will be slightly erdeils up in just a bit firefighters a
