We are hoping to get some updated information from cal fire but earlier yesterday, the fires briefly forced a mandatory Evacuation Order for residents oflastnight, the win and temperatures came down, so cal fire likely was able to strengthen those containment lines a little bit overnight. They had a large firefight ahead of them today before those residents will be allowed home. In a state wide flex alert, they are in effect. There were not any rolling blackouts last night. This comes as san jose mayor sam liccardo is accusing pg e of lying to its customers about Power Outages. Folks in this neighborhood lost their power saturday for nearly 48 hours because of a broken transformer. It was finally restored yesterday afternoon. Firefighters are at least looking at those light conditions and the winds are not really a factor. The hennessey fire is burning east of st. Helena, with temperatures in the upper 70s and maybe at 53 humidity. Northerly winds around two miles an hour. The deer zone fire is burning southwest of brentwood and temperatures are in the upper 70s. This morning, we have warm temperatures but there are calm e goat gh are goto upnst the today. We saw a lot of equipment being staged on the side of the road. Firefighters have been working on this all night. If you try to come out here, this is what youre going to see, a chp roadblock on the corner of sage canyon road and silverado trail. This is the access around highway 128. They cannot come here. This has cooled off considerably. The winds are calm and this is giving firefighters a chance to gain some ground and they are going to need all the help they can get. The fire had grown to 2400 acres and containment is at 0 for the hennessey fire. 205 structures are threatened and mandatory evacuations are in place. The fires are very active with intense burning into the night. This is sage canyon road. The fire started sometime yesterday around noon and by sundown, it had exploded to well over 2000 acres and by nightfall, crews are still battling the flames as they came down a ridgeline and close down on the historic nicolini winery. Some stayed on the property to help firefighters. We are working in close conjunction with them. We had our property here, so we have to prepare it so they can come in and out. Right now you can see your opening up a gate, getting ready so they have access through the properties and can get to the Water Systems and stuff. When they get to a certain stage, we will leave but right now, we are just trying to assist all weekend. There are about a halfdozen structures between homes and offices and they are focused on defending and saving them. It has been a long night for this crews that have been dousing thematmit betingtheir w possibly tinkers. We are seeing none of that now and yesterday, they dealt with 60 spot fires across the region as they were chasing down a lot of hotspots that were popping up throughout the day. Theres lots of activity around the napa valley. We have more on the fires burning throughout the region with anne makovec. I am keeping an eye on this that has been burning in the nevada city area. This is in yuba county. The problem is a lot of people live in that area, so about 4000 people are evacuating. A lot of it is along the south forks of the yuba river, what has been giving firefighters trouble, that it has been moving south through these drainage systems in nevada county. It has burned less than 400 acres but those evacuations continue right now and this also started early yesterday morning. It is believed to have been started by the lightning. The main goal of the firefighters today as the sun comes up and they try to do more water and fire retardant drops from the errors to try to keep the fire west of highway 49 and hopefully we will have good news once they get a better look at the fire now that the sun is coming up.
