Temperatures are on the rise and it looks fabulous in green. I want to talk about what is going on because we have those wildfires burning this morning and i want to get to the current conditions. The hennessey fire is burning to the east of st. Helena and right now, temperatures are in the mid50s. Firefighters are against some warm conditions. The good news is there are calm winds this morning. For the marsh fire, burning east, temperatures are in the mid80s and winds northwest at six miles an hour. There are light conditions for the marsh fire. The deer zone fire, temperatures are in the upper 70s and humidity is 40 and firefighters are against slight conditions. Northeasterly winds at five miles an hour. Lets talk about the heat. Excessive heat warnings continue for the bay area due to this persistent and dangerous heat that will be in effect until 9 00 tomorrow. The daytime high is 80 in San Francisco, 80 in oakland, 95 in san jose and triple digit heat in concord. Highs are 12 to 17 degrees above average. I will let you know when things will cool down a little bit in the extended forecast in just a few minutes. We are keeping an eye on a couple of large fires burning in the north bay. It looks like they were started by lightning as were dozens around the area over the past couple of days. We are starting off with this one around lake hennessey, near rutherford. It is 0 contained. It started yesterday during the Lightning Storm near Hennessey Ridge road, more than 200 structures are threatened and i can Evacuation Orders are in effect for those around the stage canyon road and highway 128. Crews are on the ground and water and flame retardant are being thrown down from above. This is video from overnight and also taking look at a nearby fire, the gamble fire, that one is 600 acres and it is a 0 contained right now. This fire is burning along knoxville road near lake mary esther. It is west of brooks and all stoke new video in overnight, this one started yesterday afternoon and has been keeping cal fire very busy between two of them and those are the biggest ones in the north bay. We will keep our eye on this especially is cal fire can update some of the containment numbers later on. We will keep you posted. To santa clara county, hundreds of residents in sunol are under an evacuation warning. Flames from the marsh fire have burned for more than 1700 acres and the fire is currently 0 contained. Earlier, the fires briefly forced a mandatory Evacuation Order for residents of kill kari canyon. The fire is a combination of four vegetation flareups which started over the weekend. Resources are being spread thin and in some cases, the fires are in the most remote areas and are not being manned. They do prioritize the fires based on property threats and they are moving to the locations that need it most. I think theyre trying to be super cautious because they do not have a lot of people to fight the fires. They are everywhere right now. Many residents nearby say it is a tough decision whether to stay or go. It is hard to leave their homes however they also know it is a Narrow Canyon with only one road in and one road out. Last night, the winds were common temperatures came down. The goal for fire crews is to take advantage of the decreased fire activity to strengthen containment lines.
