First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. on Bank 1 at the Cary Tennis Park. Florida State leads the all-time series against Clemson 21-2.  The Seminoles most recently defeated the Tigers 4-0 in Tallahassee earlier this season. Last year, the Tigers made a splash in the ACC Tournament, advancing to the ACC Quarterfinals for the first time since 2015 after sweeping Boston College in the first round and upsetting then No. 22 Duke. Ryuhei Azuma has dominated on Court 1 as of late, defeating two ranked opponents in the last three matches. Ryuhei Azuma Named to the All-ACC Team

CLEMSON, S.C. - Junior Ryuhei Azuma was named All-ACC Third Team by the conference office Monday afternoon. This is the first time Azuma has earned conference honors in his career with the Tigers. Azuma enjoyed a breakout season for the Tigers, solely playing on Court 1 in singles play. He was awarded ACC Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career after registering two ranked wins against South Alabama’s No. 123 Collard and Nebraska’s No. 75 Hietaranta earlier this season. During the stretch he also continued playing excellent in doubles play, beating Nebraska’s line 1 pair of Wiedenhorn and Maruyama. Tigers Advance to Second Round of ACC Tournament

CARY, N.C. –  The Clemson men’s tennis team (11-14, 1-11 ACC) started the ACC Tournament off strong, handily defeating Boston College (7-14, 0-12 ACC) 4-1 at the Cary Tennis Park. The Tigers dropped the doubles point but dominated in singles to take four matches in straight sets and clinch the victory. With the win, Clemson advanced to the second round of the conference tournament for the second straight season. It will have an opportunity to advance to the quarterfinals for the second straight season on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. against Florida State. It was the Eagles who came out hot to start the match, taking the doubles point to jump out to a 1-0 lead. However, the doubles point is the only one that Boston College would notch. Ryuhei Azuma continued his stellar play with a convincing 6-2, 6-0 victory on Court 1. Earlier this week, he earned the No. 93 ITA singles ranking. Virginia Tech Tops Clemson Sunday Afternoon

BLACKSBURG, VA. –  The Clemson men’s tennis team (10-14, 1-11 ACC) dropped a 4-0 match to Virginia Tech (9-15, 3-9 ACC) on Sunday afternoon. Jorge Plans Gonzalez and Ryuhei Azuma looked solid from the first serve in doubles play. The Clemson pair and the No. 20 Hokie team in Chrysostom/Fishback were neck and neck for the whole match, but after two wins on Courts 2 and 3 for Virginia Tech, the match went unfinished, and the Hokies registered the doubles point.  The Hokies earned a quick win on Court 6 to extend their lead to 2-0 right before they won another match on Court 5 to give them a 3-0 advantage. Matt Pitts battled on Court 4 to keep the Tigers in it but ultimately dropped the match, as Virginia Tech clinched a 4-0 win. Up next, the Tigers await their seeding as they will head to Cary, N.C. for ACC Championships next week. Clemson Battles, Falls to No. 7 Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. –  The Clemson men’s tennis team (10-13, 1-10 ACC) stole the doubles point and battled hard against No. 7 Virginia (19-4, 10-0 ACC) but came up short 4-1 Friday night.  The match started off on a high note for the Tigers as every court competed well a tough Virginia team. The Cavaliers secured the first victory on Court 2 by a score of 6-3, but shortly after Jorge Plans Gonzalez and Ryuhei Azuma upset No. 74 Woodall/Montes 6-3 to tie things up. It all came down to Court 3 where Tim Pitts and Nini Dica, playing as a doubles team for the first time, came up clutch and won in a tiebreaker, 7-6 to give the Tigers the 1-0 lead. While the Tigers looked to stay in the fight, the Cavaliers seized momentum in singles play, registering victories on Courts 6, 2 and 5 to give Virginia a 3-1 advantage. Azuma continued his streak of playing ranked opponents and took No. 10 Rodesch to a tiebreak in the second set on Court 1 but was unable to extend the match to a third set, ....
