Reporter the regents are taking a Committee Vote today on this proposal to raise tuition thousands of dollars over the next five years. The student protestors have pretty much broken up their protest outside of the building. But the regents are still meeting inside. This glass door of this ucsf building was shattered during protests this morning while the board of regents was meeting inside talking about a proposal to raise tuition now about 12,200 by as much as 5 each year for the next five years. The plain fact is that tuition must now be on the table. Reporter the fee increase would start at around 600 per year rising to over 15,000 a year in tuition costs. We have an accident coming into san rafael in the north bay. Southbound 101 at lincoln, up to two lanes are blocked. A spinout you can see that right now theres minimal delay but i know tow crews are heading to the scene and farther not in petaluma, southbound 101 at kastania road, this accident was just cleared to the righthand shoulder about your we are seeing brake lights southbound. Then clear past the kastania road exit. Metering lights are on now over at the bay bridge toll plaza. We have rain on the camera lens. They have been going through the metering lights very slowly this morning. So the backups are pretty extensive on 580. That 580 approach is very slow. Once you get on the bridge though they are clamping down on the metering lights so hard they are limiting the amount of traffic on the bridge itself so it actually looks clear from the incline to Treasure Island. Station. The police say the bad guys are getting more desperate and violent. A dramatic robbery caught on camera. You see two men running up to a car, one potential victim immediately takes off running. The car speeds away leaving an older man fending for himself. During the brief struggle the robber fires off one shot narrowly missing the mans head. The robber takes the victims wallet and least. Its insanity but thats whats happening on this street. Reporter councilman noel gallo says police are reporting a 60 increase in robberies along the busiest corridors in his fruitvale district. 42 cases between july and october. Police used this map to pinpoint those robberies. Most of them along international boulevard. And they happened mostly on saturdays and fridays. Fridays are known as mexican fridays to the thugs and those that are making the robberies because on friday afternoons, friday evenings is when a lot of us get paid in cash.
