at the naval academy annapolis at the naval academy. kris sneed, it s friday morning, how s it looking on the roads? fortunately you re driving the virginia, things are not looking very good right now. we have a yellow light with a couple of accidents on 95 northbound in virginia. we re going to start out here route 1. you can see only the left lane gets by with this accident. you re seeing delays slow you back down to 123. they re hoping to clear this up sometime soon. but i haven t gotten a word on any time yet. now, going northbound a little further in the hov lanes, only the left shoulder is getting by between 7100 and the franconia springfield parkway. due to an accident there. crews are on the scene as well tries to clear that out. moving over the 395 northbound, everything is looking good here from duke street to the 14th street bridge. over on 66 if you re coming out of manassas and centreville moving the camera there, no problems for them this all the way past 50
county exec jack johnson s pension. more than $49,000 a year. he pleaded guilty to extortion and conspiracy but because he left office before that guilty plea, state law says he gets to keep the money. gary nurenberg reports on efforts to change that law. reporter: johnson was indicted on corruption charges in november. left office in december and cut his plea deal in may. the timing is important under maryland law. if you re convicted while in office, you ll lose your pension and your benefits but what s happening is we have people who figure they re going to be found guilty, they resign. johnson saved his pension, $49,500 a year. sheila dixon indicted, cuts a plea deal, saves her pension. sheila dixon is getting $83,000. he s introducing a bill that would change law. if you committed a crime while in office, even if you re found guilty afterwards, you lose the benefits that came with the office. he s incensed that johnson. this is criminal activity. why are
