That victim 27yearold amy , mayek, was crossing cesar chavez here around 1 30 in the morning last week wednesday when a speeding car plowed into her and never stopped. A suspect was arrested wednesday a man with a history of driving , drunk. Responding officers found the victim still sprawled on the pavement early last wednesday. They later identified her as 27yearold amy mayek of milwaukee. Her injuries critical. Police reviewed Surveillance Video showing the driver hit her and just kept going. 12 news has Learned Police found that car six hours later about 10 blocks from the crash scene. The owner said her son in law borrowed it and she hadnt seen it or him since. Milwaukee police said the victim 16 year old, travon overton was found wound. His body was found between this garage and trash cans you can see a bullet hole in the side of this garage. Neighbors say First Responders were out here for several hours trying to revive the boy without success. This all happened around 10 30 thursday morning. S. , sleeping in the parking lots of mosques along the way, according to prosecutors. They had driven as far as Central Texas when they were arrested. Prosecutors say the two thought they were communicating with isis sympathizers, when, in fact, they were talking to an undercover fbi agent. The criminal complaint says the two were trying to get to syria or iraq and had made videos pledging allegiance to the leader of isis.
