reporter: a doctor with santa clara university along with the president of the university just wrapped up a news conference here outside of the santa clara county public health department and the university announced that it is urging the more than 14,000 undergrad and grad students who attend santa clara to get vaccinated for meningitis at free clinics tomorrow and friday. this is after the public health department confirmed that two undergrad students have been hospitalized with the illness, one on sunday, another earlier later in the week. lab results confirmed one of the patients has the kind of bacteria that causes an infection of the lining of the brain and spinal cord. the other has the kind that infects the bloodstream. both are receiving treatments to deal with their respective illnesses. this bacteria if you re not familiar can be transmitted through saliva and mucus. the university has reached out to 500 students who might have had close contact with the two pa
