Clock in the st. Francis. Lets look at that elevator. Ok, lets do it. Here we are in the elevator installed as part of the expansion, and this is the way it was originally installed about 100 years ago. It has a manual switch just like elevators did back then, and it runs on dc power. This was from a time before elevators ran on ac power. When did they switch . Decided to switch in the 1920s, so this elevator predicts that by about 19 years. The doors are also manual, so this elevator predates the use of Automatic Doors on elevators. Can we take a ride . Absolutely. Going down. How many troops do you think this elevator has taken in its lifetime . Millions. Yes, this one probably has. Certainly hundreds of thousands. Very smooth. It really does run smoothly. There we go. Take some serious operation. There we go. This is really beautiful. This is served by that old elevator we were just in. Built at the same time, also in 1913. Wha ....

No council members, staff. Thank you i just like to make maybe two quick comments. One is that i think we all lost a little bit of ground during the economic down turn and the city had to reset some priorities at that time, but i really do feel with the recent commitment to the Capital Planning program that the city has really stepped up to fund this very important work at the levels that are necessary and i think that is due really in large part to john paul advocacy and also his incredibly efficient project management. Ive spoken to the planning staff and they see the mod projects actually as a model for how you should identify a project, then do a feasible study and then the design and the construction so you really move a project over multiple years, but always with the best of information so that you get the best bang for your buck so i want to thank you John Paul Scott

Any questions . Thank you very much. Council members, chip. Yes, please. Hi john paul. This was a comprehensive report and a lot of numbers flying around, but i was i wanted to ask about the General Hospital situation. Will that entire campus be ada compliant when youre finished with this or certain buildings . We have many different programs going on at the same time. Some of the buildings are 1920s and theres no way to make them completely ada compliant. So what we have to do is burial removal. Where we have public services, programs for the public, were bringing those all into accessibility. The patient rooms will move to the new hospital and all of those have useable, accessibility. Theres full patient rooms. Were leaving, for example, the Mental Health services so were going in there to make accessible showers and toilets as apart of our work. The university of californ ....

Theres no curb ramp. If you went up to the cross centsing to the front of the steps and went back to the cable, i asked a friend in a wheelchair, what would you do at this point. She said i would throw it in the street by my car and go back around and take it off the sidewalk and stick it in my car. Unfortunately the street is below the reach range. Weve got a few hundreds of these. I dont know which ones have permits but i would like to know who issued the permits. I think you need a public policy. It does not allow new Tech Companies to do what they like under the California Building code. Okay. Thank you. Exactly. Thank you very much. To the chair if i have an opportunity to respond. We would be pleased to have the opportunity to make a presentation before the Mayors Disability Council at a future meet ....
