doug is off today. it s a mild day ahead for us. mike is tracking showers for the end of the weekend. what have you got? mike: typically rain on the weekend, bummer, but we need the rain. we ll see rain as we talk about tomorrow, mostly late in the today. this morning, walk out, temperatures are cool but not as cold as yesterday. yesterday we had temperatures in the 30 s. a little thin overcast out there, but not enough to really block out any of the moon that s out there right now. full harvest moon just about ready to set. what s happening? we h that has rain with it. that s what s moving in tomorrow. in addition to that, there s also this down to the south. tropical storm julia. now, this won t come up over us. it will keep tropical moisture around. that gives this cold front more to work with. that s why the positive note about the chance for seeing rain today. speaking of today, sunshine looks like across the day. temperature boston warming up to about 74, 75 degre ....
everyone should be happy about this weekend forecast or none of you are happy. here s what s happening this morning. we had low clouds, a little bit of fog. it s all burned off. we re going with sunshine. that s the way the sky will be all day today. lots of blue skies. gorgeous. then out to the west, we have a cold front coming in. you can see the rain associated with this. this is going to try to work its way eastward. that s why i ve got rain in the forecast. speaking of today, look what happens. we have temperatures warming up nicely with plenty of sunshine. in boston in the mid ways, and we ll see temperatures close to the 80? mark with southerly winds. i do have rain in the forecast tomorrow. hit or miss showers. much more on the timeline what to expect in a few moments. antoinette? antoinette: thank you. breaking news overnight one person is dead and two other injured after a shooting overnight in dorchester on wales street near nightingale after 2:00 this morn ....
two storms to watch this brings us a developing storm this will be the stronger one that takes control later this week. that will bring the wind, the rain and the warmer temperatures eventually. clouding up in the morning we will have low 20s out the door, to start the day. overcast, topping out in the upper 30s and snow developing between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. especially from a pike southward. slick areas developing and then as we approached midnight we will switch over from snow to freezing rain. especially in the interior locations we will stay below freezing all the way through wednesday morning. and for some even longer than that. this initial snowfall is o ne-3 inches across most of the area. as we head into wednesday, temperature start to warm and that we bring in the rain and some strong winds. we will talk about that end of the storm coming up in a few minutes. breaking news tonight, a hover board sparked a house fire , the family was home at the time in fact, ....
across the tri-state area. i m glad it s over. reporter: well, she is glad it s over but we know there s still much clean-up to be done. now, pseg long island tells us at the height of the storm, more than 85,000 customers were without power as of last check just over 7,000 remaining without power this evening. and those power problems today did result in some school closings nearby. we re live from great neck, long island, with the mobile weather lab, vanessa murdoch, cbs 2 news. the storm knocked down trees all over new jersey, as well. clean-up began this morning in essex fells. trees took down power lines overnight and large branches blocked some roads and in new milford more trouble when a giant tree snapped and crashed on a deck and part of a home. the homeowner says it sounded like the sky was falling. in queens the storm ripped off chunks of a building that crashed into the street and on parked cars below. the debris came from the verizon building on bro ....
