jonathan: we are following breaking developments in delaware, a state trooper shot to death. the man accused of shooting the officer barricaded and refusing to surrender. alison: this played out after gunfire at a convenience store. nancy chen has the latest. ofcy: the man accused killing the state trooper is barricaded inside, refusing to surrender and has fired shots at officers. was identified as corporal stephen ballard, shot in the parking lot of a wawa. he was 32 years old and had been on the force more than eight years. one person was taken into custody, the other man took off. no word on a motive. we will keep you posted on the ongoing hostage negotiations. alison: nancy, thank you. sentence tonight for the sniper who targeted pennsylvania state troopers. he killed one trooper in the sniper attack. this was in 2014. he wounded the other. the defense had asked for life in prison without parole, but the jury gave him the death penalty. jonathan: a frustrating ride ....

accompanied by motorcycle officers and a whole lot of other officers. within the last 90 minutes we learned his name, 32-year-old cpl. stephen ballard was gunned down at a wawas in bear, delaware. a suspect has been taken into custody and another has been barricaded inside his house most of the day. it s wednesday night and the big story is the execution style shooting of a delaware state trooper. since this afternoon the alleged gunman has been barricaded inside his home. an army of police has been outside of the house in the brick mill farm development. late tonight lawmen have blown the door off the house but have yet to go in. they are being careful because the suspect has been shooting at police at various times during the day. this all began when the officer approached a suspicious vehicle. one of the men got out and started shooting hitting corporal ballard three times. he was rushed to christiana hospital where he was pronounced dead. let s go to middle town whe ....
