A small vegetation fire broke out in Sonoma County on Monday night after 9 p.m. amid unseasonably warm weather and high offshore winds.Google Maps
A small vegetation fire that broke out in a remote area of Sonoma County on Monday night was 60% contained Tuesday morning, Cal Fire said.
The Old Fire sparked in the hills east of Geyserville off Big Geysers Road near the Geysers geothermal fields amid unseasonably warm temperatures and high offshore winds after 9 p.m. Initial reports said the blaze was 5 to 10 acres.
Tyree Zander of the Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit said the latest mapping showed it was only 1.8 acres. ....
