fierce resistance in eastern ukraine. welcome to fox news live, i'm griff jenkins. jacqui: i'm jacqui heinrich. and president is looking to are nor, 33 billion for aid to ukraine. griff: 20 billion in the form of military aid, that means hard weapons and the assessment we're getting from the pentagon that the russian forces in eastern donbas and making uneven progress that the weapons in the west and eastern allies is clearly making russia slow if not outright stalled in their assault although they're continuing the shelling, they're continuing the hammering, and as you can probably see from back where you are in washington in the states, every single day in every corner of this country, missile strikes are killing civilians. it happened on thursday, a woman working for radio free europe, killed when it hit the apartment building in odesa in the southern part of the country, jacqui. jacqui: no kidding. as we zoo this aid having a lot of success with the ukrainian military, there's discussion in washington sort of just reckoning with the fact that this is going to be an effort we're going to be support for quite a long time this is not the last of funding supplemental that the president puts forward, griff. griff: well, and when we talked to ukrainian officials here, whether it's the president's right-hand man or others to include the mayor, they all have the same plea from the u.s. and western allies, more weapons, keep them coming and don't fail us now. they say that support is late coming, but better late than never. now, let me get a little more insight on ground here and tri in trey yingst, he's been here from the very beginning and right now you're looking at a specific date coming up here soon as to where the russian intentions are? >> yeah, griff, next months the russians are going to commemorate victory day. the nazi in 1944 signed a surrender agreement and there's a lot of concern from western intelligence officials that this date could be used by russian president putin to launch a wider invasion into this country. already you hear a lot in the state media, in moscow, about what a special operation looks like, from the perspective of russian forces, but they've stopped short of calling this a full war with ukraine. what this could look like according to reports, who cite the intelligence officials, a further mobilization of the population in russia used to fight a broader war against ukraine and as we heard against n.a.t.o. because there's a concern that as more weapons come in from western countries, that the russians could target the supply lines coming to ukraine. >> as far as putin wanting to hold some prize up, some victory on victory day, it would appear that the situation in mariupol, very dire, the mayor saying they could be hanging on a matter of hours, not just days. the russians don't have the critical territorial gain they'd hoped for. they were pushed back by ukrainian forces and they were quickly into belarus and russian territory and also, in a reason in the effort to take it forward that have been stalled, ukrainians have not only used the weapons they prepared for offensive weapons the beginning of this year, but new supply lines, the american-made weapons and british weapons flowing into the country allowing ukraine to put artillery units in different locations and basically build a firm front line. now it's a new war, it's entered a second phase and so far, russian president putin has not been able to capture critical territories that he could turn around and say this is the reason the war began. >> af been all over this country, when you talk about the front line in the fight happening right now. the terrain in donbas is different from what we're seeing now here in a big city. >> it's different and part of the new challenges for the ukrainian military. when we looked at the areas outside of kyiv, areas that you and i reported in, in bucha and kyiv. there was street fighting uses anti-tank missiles to stop the advance. now they're fighting in open fields, they need the weapons, artillery, drones, they need the critical munitions to build that front line and part of the reason we've heard the past two to three weeks, the ukrainian president volodymyr zelenskyy again and again requesting assistance from the west and the support from joe biden and asking the other countries to do the same. there's an understanding that each and every day, the ukrainians are losing their supplies and heavy weapons. in this region they'll need that resupply each and every day. in the 30 seconds or so that you've got. you've been talking to the ukrainian people and fascinating stories, the latest. >> a blind man outside of the ukrainian capital and when we got to his house, after seven weeks not seeing the man or his condition, his home was destroyed and he was there and like the people his will to survive. griff: thank you for checking in. jacqui to you. jacqui: thank you. the white house is looking at the disinformation board as critics look at the process and person chosen to lead it. alexandria is there. >> this endeavor was revealed by homeland security secretary alejandro mayorkas as he testified on capitol hill. the focus was supposed to be on the administration's planned end to title 42, the border policy, but then he was asked about the person who had been chosen to lead the department of the disinformation governance board, nito jenkins. >> is this the same guy who said that the dossier was real, and running the governance board. >> i'm not familiar with those statements. it's been reported widely. >> i'm not familiar with those. >> the online posts, and woman made hyper partisan statements and the hunter biden laptop story on russians. >> and she made a part of a mary poppens song. ♪♪ . >> with the mission fast approaching this is a concern over the objectively what information will be under the new boardment according to the white house's intention to stop disinformation around the country particularly to terrorism and smuggling. here is press secretary jen psaki. >> any hiring up to the department of homeland security, this is a person with extensive qualifications. what i can tell you about the board, continuation that began in homeland security under former president trump. >> in 2017 the department of homeland security did form a department in cybering security to come back misinformation as part of cyber security. in defending this new board, this is an added strain on the white house which has been a tiresome week. and that the economy shrank in the first quarter of 2022 and that the president said that he's not concerned right now about recession, but that is concerned about the possibility of one next year. jacqui. jacqui: alexandria for us at the white house, thank you. elon musk telling congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez to stop hitting on me, when she said he had an ego problem with a communication, and the takeover of twitter. >> and congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez tweeted after 10 a.m. quote, like i said, ego problems. and commented on her own post saying she typically tries to avoid giving people with massive ego complexes the attention they crave she couldn't help herself with the initial exchange with musk last night. we'll show you that. >> she tweeted, tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening because some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communications program and excuse it because tucker carlson or peter thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special. >> and he said quick hitting on me, i'm shy, and blushing there. and she had said they're mad because they can't date her. and initially she was talking about facebook ceo mark zuckerberg, not musk. >> a 44 billion dollar takeover of twitter, he's on the hook to come up with $21 billion in cash to finance that deal. musk sold roughly 8.4 billion worth of tesla shares this week according to filings with the securities and exchange commission. and musk doesn't plan on selling any more tesla shares, he owns 16% of the company. >> thanks. griff. griff: jacqui, as russia's invasion of ukraine raises questions what's next in the country. we spoke with the national leader of belarus in exile. >> she left the country amid it police crackdown following the 2020 presidential election which she believes was rigged. we're joined by the president-elect of belarus, madam president, thank you taking time and joining us, you've been meeting with those in washington like speaker pelosi. what are you asking of them? >> at this point, for the ceremony of-- always supporting those countries and those people who were for tanks and missiles for that invasion. has he essentially, madam president, allowed the kremlin to take over control defacto, of belarus. >> he gives our soil to russian troops because of the support he got from putin after the election of 2020 and that helped him to keep in power, he now is paying his debt to this president, the president of russia, and he made a huge aircraft career for russian troops. and, but it was made against people's fields. and when people are against the war, they don't want to participate in this fight against ukrainians. ukrainians are our neighbors, and protestant sisters and 86% of belarusians are against the war against ukraine. but accomplished this war, he says to share the full responsibility for what he has done. neil: are you concerned, madam president, that he'll compel belarusan forces to combine in the fight against ukrainians. the fact that the didn't join russian army, it's our people to explain why their sons and daughters don't have to participate in this war. and to keep people, to stay in power, he can make this criminal order, but i am sure, look, i want to believe this, our soldiers will not fulfill this. >> and what can be done, what can the u.s. and the eu do to stop him? >> so, now our strategy is to reduce lukashenka's regime and the heavy war that's launched since the war started. on the other hand it's important to impose sanctions on lukashenka's regime and signaling by strength to russian sanctions by different instruction, and we have to take care of our small and medium businesses and we don't want our people to stop because the regime and the people are two different sides. we really need support of western countries, democratic countries to fight with this person, with this regime. neil: thank you this for us from eagle pass. hi, bryan. >> hi, jacqui, good afternoon as we show you live images from our fox news drone from the rio durand river. and the third day in a row, the national guard in tandem with mexican security forces across the river are showing a security presence, a show of force, if you will and all of this comes about two weeks after the four mexican border states agreed to beef up security in exchange for governor greg abbott in texas easing up on extra commercial vehicle inspections that were hurting business on both sides. this, as governor abbott and texas state leadership yesterday approved half a billion dollars more for operation lonestar, which was launched last month by texas to increase border security. almost all of that money is going to support the 10,000 national guard troops deployed here who are putting up concertino wear and border patrol. despite the efforts, a record number of migrants are acrossing illegally into the states as far back as will try to cross illegally. and they'll be sent right back under title 42. a few told us if it ends on may 23rd, they've heard rumors, maybe it will open doors for them to come here legally. and border patrol was opening about 1600 encounters today, here on the border the number is up to 7800 in the last month and if title 42 ends, they expect 18,000 illegal crossings into the u.s. every miles to the u.s. he ended up in mexico, and crossed into eagle pass. and what we may see now, if title 42 goes away is 10 times what we saw four yooers years ago and what do you make of this and what should be done? >> what should be done is that title 42 should be kept and griff, as you're mentioning and as bryan mentioned in his report, you look how the numbers have escalated under joe biden, with title 42 in place, and the expectation that you will go from 6,000 to 7800 to 18,000 per day. now, when i heard that 18,000 figure i looked at the total number of towns we have in tennessee, which is 345. of this 345 towns and cities, 90% of them are 18,000 or fewer people per day. so, this would be the equivalent of the population of a typical tennessee town coming across the border every single day of the week. we cannot afford to do this. it is something that is a danger to the sovereignty and the security of our nation and crime in the streets, drugs on the streets, human trafficking, gangs, sex trafficking, some of those are the biggest problems that our law enforcement and our community leaders talk about they're having to address. every town is a border town. every state is a border state. griff: but senator, outside of-- >> yes, and-- >> legal court action, what can republicans in the minority do to try to stop this from happening? >> we can look at the funding mechanisms, and make certain that there is no money for title 42, for the removal of title 42. we also can look at expanding title 42 and there is bipartisan support for keeping that, forcing that issue, forcing a floor vote. making certain that title 42 covers drugs and gives extra ability to go after these drug traffickers. i was down in benton county, tennessee yesterday over in the northwest part of the state and our sheriff over there, sheriff christopher, was talking about the presence of fentanyl and how prevalent that has been. they've seen such an uptick in the past six months and he said if we can't secure that southern border that when those drug dealers come across, it's like a shotgun blast, you know, it spreads everywhere. griff: and it is indeed. and just in the time we have left, i want to ask you also about another story and that is the administration's new disinformation czar, nina jankowicz. your thoughts and reactions to that? >> what we know is this disinformation governance board is put there to allow the biden administration to censor political free speech. what they're trying to do is take away your free speech and this is someone who has shown that they are very partisan, that she is going to take a partisan approach. we know that she believes christopher steele is a really great guy and she also believes that hunter biden's laptop is russian disinformation. but by the way, she was to be a broadway musical singing expert on russia disinformation. we see what that has gotten us. griff: well, she's certainly created quite a stir. this, i don't believe that we should be using tools like these against any of our own people, we should focus on fighting chinese and russian disinformation, that's critically important and we know and we're beginning to hear whispers within the administration, that it might not happen and jennifer granholm doesn't know about that because of the war in ukraine. what should the white house be doing to help bring down gas prices. >> part of this, the indicate cuss, and i and the republican co-chair, we think we should be focused on all of the above energy strategy and looks longer term toward climate solutions and alternative energy, but in the short-term focuses on getting up domestic production. the worst thing we can do is look to countries like iran which are terror sympathizer or communist countries like venezuela for our oil. we need to make sure we get domestic production up, the administration has allowed more permits on public lands we need to do more to get up production on our existing wells and production moving up and that of course takes time and we need to do more on the short run to get prices down. the price of a barrel has come down off the high the last month or so and the dire situation in ukraine affecting it, the global market, oil and gas, but we need to do everything we can, both with what the administration is trying, whether there are we hope that there is some bipartisan effort to stop title 42 from lifting, to perhaps go after secretary mayorkas? >> well, look, even with identitying 42 the, you know, the secretary said, well, that's a cdc thing, i can't control that. but what he can control is the remain in mexico program. we sued him to put that back in place. i was a part of that lawsuit. i've written more affidavits for the state of texas than i ever did as a special agent. so you've got to do the right thing for the american people and do, and stand up and tell the white house no. but what congress can do is call this secretary out, call him out and take the house and senate back and impeach him. he needs to be impeached, he needs to be removed. he has failed. he has been in a position for 15 months, almost 16. the president's been in position 16 months. the numbers keep climbing. they haven't done a single thing to slow the flow. even now. almost a billion dollars building facilities to process and release quicker which is just going to tell the cartels, bring more, because they're releasing them even quicker now. everything they've done is, acts as a mag innocent, and not a single thing, not onen enforcement strategy to secure that border. griff: well, tom, we are with less than 30 days away from that day, may 23rd, of title 43 lifting. we shall see what happens and what congress does, if anything, between now and then. tom homan, thank you for joining us. >> thanks for having me. jacqui: severe weather continuing to threaten the midwest and south. officials say a tornado has ripped through damaging dozens of buildings and blocking roads. will nunley joins us from the ground in wichita, kansas, with the latest on in this storm. hi, will. >> reporter: hi. the fury of the storm has been replaced with a fury of activity as utility workers and first responders come in to try and help so many people in need. you can tell by the neighborhood behind me that has been leveled under power of this storm. we're about 15 miles outside of wichita, kansas. about 8:30 last night this perfectly formed, powerful twister consumed buildings, businesses, homes, cars. we have incredible video that i captured just a few feet away from where i'm standing right now as the ymca where during the height of this tornado this building took a direct hit. about 60 people were sheltering inside, and vehicles -- the parking lot was full of vehicles. they were slammed to the side of the building and even about 4 of those cars entering inside of this ymca as people were trying to have shelter. all the windows blown out, the roof taken apart. throughout these neighborhoods for blocks and blocks, homes have been demolished. the fire department telling us at this hour that, amazingly, to only about four injuries, no fatalities. there is a hefty damage assessment underway right now. about 85% of the people that lost power are already starting to see the lights come back on, so a lot of hard working men and women doing what they can to help those people in need. meanwhile, all eyes on texas today as we have another storm threat there. we're monitoring that around the clock on the free fox weather app, and i think when the storm assessments come back today, we're going to have readings of a very powerful storm. jacqui: you can see the damage that it did. will nunley for us, thank you so much. you can find the latest details on the storm and the weather in your area, download it on fox weather.com for continuing coverage and live updates. griff: and coming up, one young woman's story of the horrors of the war here in ukraine and the terrible human toll, next. ♪ ♪ terans. with the newday zero down home purchase loan, you can buy a home with no down payment. and rates are still low. already own a home and need cash? fierce resistance in eastern ukraine. welcome to fox news live, i'm griff jenkins. jacqui: i'm jacqui heinrich. and president is looking to are nor, 33 billion for aid to ukraine. griff: 20 billion in the form of military aid, that means hard weapons and the assessment we're getting from the pentagon that the russian forces in eastern donbas and making uneven progress that the weapons in the west and eastern allies is clearly making russia slow if not outright stalled in their assault although they're continuing the shelling, they're continuing the hammering, and as you can probably see from back where you are in washington in the states, every single day in every corner of this country, missile strikes are killing civilians. it happened on thursday, a woman working for radio free europe, killed when it hit the apartment building in odesa in the southern part of the country, jacqui. jacqui: no kidding. as we zoo this aid having a lot of success with the ukrainian military, there's discussion in washington sort of just reckoning with the fact that this is going to be an effort we're going to be support for quite a long time this is not the last of funding supplemental that the president puts forward, griff. griff: well, and when we talked to ukrainian officials here, whether it's the president's right-hand man or others to include the mayor, they all have the same plea from the u.s. and western allies, more weapons, keep them coming and don't fail us now. they say that support is late coming, but better late than never. now, let me get a little more insight on ground here and tri in trey yingst, he's been here from the very beginning and right now you're looking at a specific date coming up here soon as to where the russian intentions are? >> yeah, griff, next months the russians are going to commemorate victory day. the nazi in 1944 signed a surrender agreement and there's a lot of concern from western intelligence officials that this date could be used by russian president putin to launch a wider invasion into this country. already you hear a lot in the state media, in moscow, about what a special operation looks like, from the perspective of russian forces, but they've stopped short of calling this a full war with ukraine. what this could look like according to reports, who cite the intelligence officials, a further mobilization of the population in russia used to fight a broader war against ukraine and as we heard against n.a.t.o. because there's a concern that as more weapons come in from western countries, that the russians could target the supply lines coming to ukraine. >> as far as putin wanting to hold some prize up, some victory on victory day, it would appear that the situation in mariupol, very dire, the mayor saying they could be hanging on a matter of hours, not just days. the russians don't have the critical territorial gain they'd hoped for. they were pushed back by ukrainian forces and they were quickly into belarus and russian territory and also, in a reason in the effort to take it forward that have been stalled, ukrainians have not only used the weapons they prepared for offensive weapons the beginning of this year, but new supply lines, the american-made weapons and british weapons flowing into the country allowing ukraine to put artillery units in different locations and basically build a firm front line. now it's a new war, it's entered a second phase and so far, russian president putin has not been able to capture critical territories that he could turn around and say this is the reason the war began. >> af been all over this country, when you talk about the front line in the fight happening right now. the terrain in donbas is different from what we're seeing now here in a big city. >> it's different and part of the new challenges for the ukrainian military. when we looked at the areas outside of kyiv, areas that you and i reported in, in bucha and kyiv. there was street fighting uses anti-tank missiles to stop the advance. now they're fighting in open fields, they need the weapons, artillery, drones, they need the critical munitions to build that front line and part of the reason we've heard the past two to three weeks, the ukrainian president volodymyr zelenskyy again and again requesting assistance from the west and the support from joe biden and asking the other countries to do the same. there's an understanding that each and every day, the ukrainians are losing their supplies and heavy weapons. in this region they'll need that resupply each and every day. in the 30 seconds or so that you've got. you've been talking to the ukrainian people and fascinating stories, the latest. >> a blind man outside of the ukrainian capital and when we got to his house, after seven weeks not seeing the man or his condition, his home was destroyed and he was there and like the people his will to survive. griff: thank you for checking in. jacqui to you. jacqui: thank you. the white house is looking at the disinformation board as critics look at the process and person chosen to lead it. alexandria is there. >> this endeavor was revealed by homeland security secretary alejandro mayorkas as he testified on capitol hill. the focus was supposed to be on the administration's planned end to title 42, the border policy, but then he was asked about the person who had been chosen to lead the department of the disinformation governance board, nito jenkins. >> is this the same guy who said that the dossier was real, and running the governance board. >> i'm not familiar with those statements. it's been reported widely. >> i'm not familiar with those. >> the online posts, and woman made hyper partisan statements and the hunter biden laptop story on russians. >> and she made a part of a mary poppens song. ♪♪ . >> with the mission fast approaching this is a concern over the objectively what information will be under the new boardment according to the white house's intention to stop disinformation around the country particularly to terrorism and smuggling. here is press secretary jen psaki. >> any hiring up to the department of homeland security, this is a person with extensive qualifications. what i can tell you about the board, continuation that began in homeland security under former president trump. >> in 2017 the department of homeland security did form a department in cybering security to come back misinformation as part of cyber security. in defending this new board, this is an added strain on the white house which has been a tiresome week. and that the economy shrank in the first quarter of 2022 and that the president said that he's not concerned right now about recession, but that is concerned about the possibility of one next year. jacqui. jacqui: alexandria for us at the white house, thank you. elon musk telling congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez to stop hitting on me, when she said he had an ego problem with a communication, and the takeover of twitter. >> and congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez tweeted after 10 a.m. quote, like i said, ego problems. and commented on her own post saying she typically tries to avoid giving people with massive ego complexes the attention they crave she couldn't help herself with the initial exchange with musk last night. we'll show you that. >> she tweeted, tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening because some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communications program and excuse it because tucker carlson or peter thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special. >> and he said quick hitting on me, i'm shy, and blushing there. and she had said they're mad because they can't date her. and initially she was talking about facebook ceo mark zuckerberg, not musk. >> a 44 billion dollar takeover of twitter, he's on the hook to come up with $21 billion in cash to finance that deal. musk sold roughly 8.4 billion worth of tesla shares this week according to filings with the securities and exchange commission. and musk doesn't plan on selling any more tesla shares, he owns 16% of the company. >> thanks. griff. griff: jacqui, as russia's invasion of ukraine raises questions what's next in the country. we spoke with the national leader of belarus in exile. >> she left the country amid it police crackdown following the 2020 presidential election which she believes was rigged. we're joined by the president-elect of belarus, madam president, thank you taking time and joining us, you've been meeting with those in washington like speaker pelosi. what are you asking of them? >> at this point, for the ceremony of-- always supporting those countries and those people who were for tanks and missiles for that invasion. has he essentially, madam president, allowed the kremlin to take over control defacto, of belarus. >> he gives our soil to russian troops because of the support he got from putin after the election of 2020 and that helped him to keep in power, he now is paying his debt to this president, the president of russia, and he made a huge aircraft career for russian troops. and, but it was made against people's fields. and when people are against the war, they don't want to participate in this fight against ukrainians. ukrainians are our neighbors, and protestant sisters and 86% of belarusians are against the war against ukraine. but accomplished this war, he says to share the full responsibility for what he has done. neil: are you concerned, madam president, that he'll compel belarusan forces to combine in the fight against ukrainians. the fact that the didn't join russian army, it's our people to explain why their sons and daughters don't have to participate in this war. and to keep people, to stay in power, he can make this criminal order, but i am sure, look, i want to believe this, our soldiers will not fulfill this. >> and what can be done, what can the u.s. and the eu do to stop him? >> so, now our strategy is to reduce lukashenka's regime and the heavy war that's launched since the war started. on the other hand it's important to impose sanctions on lukashenka's regime and signaling by strength to russian sanctions by different instruction, and we have to take care of our small and medium businesses and we don't want our people to stop because the regime and the people are two different sides. we really need support of western countries, democratic countries to fight with this person, with this regime. neil: thank you this for us from eagle pass. hi, bryan. >> hi, jacqui, good afternoon as we show you live images from our fox news drone from the rio durand river. and the third day in a row, the national guard in tandem with mexican security forces across the river are showing a security presence, a show of force, if you will and all of this comes about two weeks after the four mexican border states agreed to beef up security in exchange for governor greg abbott in texas easing up on extra commercial vehicle inspections that were hurting business on both sides. this, as governor abbott and texas state leadership yesterday approved half a billion dollars more for operation lonestar, which was launched last month by texas to increase border security. almost all of that money is going to support the 10,000 national guard troops deployed here who are putting up concertino wear and border patrol. despite the efforts, a record number of migrants are acrossing illegally into the states as far back as will try to cross illegally. and they'll be sent right back under title 42. a few told us if it ends on may 23rd, they've heard rumors, maybe it will open doors for them to come here legally. and border patrol was opening about 1600 encounters today, here on the border the number is up to 7800 in the last month and if title 42 ends, they expect 18,000 illegal crossings into the u.s. every single day. both communities jacqui and eagle pass, texas are fed up and frustrated with both governors. president obrador and president biden can have conversations. >> for more on the crisis at our miles to the u.s. he ended up in mexico, and crossed into eagle pass. and what we may see now, if title 42 goes away is 10 times what we saw four yooers years ago and what do you make of this and what should be done? >> what should be done is that title 42 should be kept and griff, as you're mentioning and as bryan mentioned in his report, you look how the numbers have escalated under joe biden, with title 42 in place, and the expectation that you will go from 6,000 to 7800 to 18,000 per day. now, when i heard that 18,000 figure i looked at the total number of towns we have in tennessee, which is 345. of this 345 towns and cities, 90% of them are 18,000 or fewer people per day. so, this would be the equivalent of the population of a typical tennessee town coming across the border every single day of the week. we cannot afford to do this. it is something that is a danger to the sovereignty and the security of our nation and crime in the streets, drugs on the streets, human trafficking, gangs, sex trafficking, some of those are the biggest problems that our law enforcement and our community leaders talk about they're having to address. every town is a border town. every state is a border state. griff: but senator, outside of-- >> yes, and-- >> legal court action, what can republicans in the minority do to try to stop this from happening? >> we can look at the funding mechanisms, and make certain that there is no money for title 42, for the removal of title 42. we also can look at expanding title 42 and there is bipartisan support for keeping that, forcing that issue, forcing a floor vote. making certain that title 42 covers drugs and gives extra ability to go after these drug traffickers. i was down in benton county, tennessee yesterday over in the northwest part of the state and our sheriff over there, sheriff christopher, was talking about the presence of fentanyl and how prevalent that has been. they've seen such an uptick in the past six months and he said if we can't secure that southern border that when those drug dealers come across, it's like a shotgun blast, you know, it spreads everywhere. griff: and it is indeed. and just in the time we have left, i want to ask you also about another story and that is the administration's new disinformation czar, nina jankowicz. your thoughts and reactions to that? >> what we know is this disinformation governance board is put there to allow the biden administration to censor political free speech. what they're trying to do is take away your free speech and this is someone who has shown that they are very partisan, that she is going to take a partisan approach. we know that she believes christopher steele is a really great guy and she also believes that hunter biden's laptop is russian disinformation. but by the way, she was to be a broadway musical singing expert on russia disinformation. we see what that has gotten us. griff: well, she's certainly created quite a stir. this, i don't believe that we should be using tools like these against any of our own people, we should focus on fighting chinese and russian disinformation, that's critically important and we know over the years including the last administration, it's coming from chinese and russian sources aimed at us and aimed at our people and they want to divide us, we won't let them. and xi, obviously, and we're beginning to hear whispers within the administration, that it might not happen and jennifer granholm doesn't know about that because of the war in ukraine. what should the white house be doing to help bring down gas prices. >> part of this, the indicate cuss, and i and the republican co-chair, we think we should be focused on all of the above energy strategy and looks longer term toward climate solutions and alternative energy, but in the short-term focuses on getting up domestic production. the worst thing we can do is look to countries like iran which are terror sympathizer or communist countries like venezuela for our oil. we need to make sure we get domestic production up, the administration has allowed more permits on public lands we need to do more to get up production on our existing wells and production moving up and that of course takes time and we need to do more on the short run to get prices down. the price of a barrel has come down off the high the last month or so and the dire situation in ukraine affecting it, the global market, oil and gas, but we need to do everything we can, both with what the administration is trying, whether there are jacqui: you know, the administration tried to bring down prices elsewhere and they've had success in unsnarling supply chains, which more investment is on the way from the bipartisan infrastructure impact. the committee for responsible budget calculated that for giving 10,000 per borrower could cost as much as universal pre-k or the full expansion of the ada subsidies. are you worried that while it's good politically, everyone wants to cancel student debt and not pay, would it hurt democrat's ability to pass pieces of the biden agenda because of the inflation concerns and you hear from joe
