Two of his friends, Jordan Servat and Reed Boudreax, were rescued from the water and are at home recovering, according to a spokesperson at Nicholls University. The sheriff s office said in a Facebook post that the beaches were marked with red flags, signaling high surf and strong rip currents at the time of the incident. A spokesperson for Nicholls State confirmed that the three men grew up together in Thibodaux and went to high school together.
According to the LSU Police Department, Gauthier was last seen on April 5. Police found her vehicle unoccupied "at the scene of an accident on the I-10 eastbound side of the Mississippi River Bridge
