Police swarmed the Mackay CBD after reports of two men fighting outside a shop during peak hour with one possibly armed with a weapon.
Several units patrolled the city and its fringes after two men were reported to be fighting on Gregory St near the walkway through to Wood St about 5pm.
Moments after police were called, one of the men rode off on a bicycle and was found on Wellington St about 5.15pm.
He was not arrested and rode off on his bike.
Mackay District Police Senior Sergeant Tony McDowall said they would review CCTV footage of the incident.

A mother has faced Mackay Magistrates Court via video link from jail to hear a string of drug-related charges read out to her.
Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan said there were âquite a numberâ as she detailed Claudia Lorina Jeffriesâ nine alleged offences in West Mackay on March 22 earlier this year.
They included unlawful possession of dangerous drugs marijuana, gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid â commonly known as the date rape drug, methamphetamines, amphetamines and methylamphetamines. Claudia Lorina Jeffries faced Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Ms Jeffries was also charged with possessing without authorisation the controlled drugs pregabalin â an anticonvulsant and anxiolytic medication, and Amitriptyline â an antidepressant.

Subscriber only Police arrested the man about 5pm last Wednesday, April 28, outside Proserpine State School on Renwick Road. After initially being held in hospital for assessment, the man was charged over the weekend with multiple serious offences including assault occasioning bodily harm. Police allege about 4.40pm on April 28, the man attended an address in Tamarind Crescent, entered a garage and assaulted a man seated in his vehicle and woman who attempted to help the victim. He then allegedly entered the yard of a nearby address, forcing the gate to the property open and allegedly injuring an elderly woman.

Police are on the lookout for a white Hyundai i30 spotted driving recklessly across Mackay.
Initial reports indicate the three occupants including the driver were aged 14 to 17 years old.
The vehicle was last seen driving on the wrong side of the road on Hume Street, West Mackay about 11.35am.
Initial reports suggest the car was first seen on Connors Road in Paget after running a red light and almost colliding with another vehicle.
