Mother faces court on 'quite a number' of drug charges

A mother has faced Mackay Magistrates Court via video link from jail to hear a string of drug-related charges read out to her.
Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan said there were “quite a number” as she detailed Claudia Lorina Jeffries’ nine alleged offences in West Mackay on March 22 earlier this year.
They included unlawful possession of dangerous drugs marijuana, gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid — commonly known as the date rape drug, methamphetamines, amphetamines and methylamphetamines.
Claudia Lorina Jeffries faced Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Ms Jeffries was also charged with possessing without authorisation the controlled drugs pregabalin — an anticonvulsant and anxiolytic medication, and Amitriptyline — an antidepressant.
