Police allege about 4.40pm on April 28, the man attended an address in Tamarind Crescent, entered a garage and assaulted a man seated in his vehicle and woman who attempted to help the victim. He then allegedly entered the yard of a nearby address, forcing the gate to the property open and allegedly injuring an elderly woman.

Bowen schools and doctors have pleaded with the council to allow a private psychology practice to expand to ease the âextreme shortageâ.
Adaptive Strategies NQ owners Kasie-Lee Lane and Dr Corey Lane have applied to Whitsunday Regional Council to rezone their home-based business at 90 Powell Street, Bowen to take on more psychologists.
If approved, it would operate between business days and hours, have four consulting rooms and continue to operate with no advertising signage.
â(It) will provide the appropriate level of discretion and privacy commensurate with the needs of clients and the nature of the business, without compromising the character and amenity of the residential area where it is proposed,â the application documents stated.

Investigations are continuing into the frenzied nudie-run that shocked Proserpine schoolchildren earlier this week.
Police said a Sunshine Coast man, aged in his 20s, was âtransported to hospital for an assessmentâ following reports he was running through the streets of Proserpine in the nude, abusing and threatening people and smashing letterboxes late Tuesday afternoon.
No one has been charged in relation to the incident.

Subscriber only Tensions have flared between a community group and Whitsunday councillor over the future direction of the Airlie Beach. Save Our Foreshore released a statement after a heated speech from Councillor Mike Brunker at the final council meeting for the year. In the meeting, councillors were discussing the Airlie Beach Local Plan and its inclusion in the major amendment to the Whitsunday Planning Scheme 2017. Save Our Foreshore secretary/treasurer Faye Chapman sent a question to councillors on behalf of the group, querying why a statement was added to the Local Plan which read: Redevelopment in the main street and or adjoining the foreshore is encouraged at higher density .
