TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – A late scoring run in the fourth quarter helped push the Florida State women’s basketball team (10-7, 9-7) to a win over Wake Forest (11-11, 8-10), 59-51, in its home finale on Sunday afternoon at the Donald L. Tucker Center. This is the Seminoles’ ninth win over the Demon Deacons in their last 10 matchups and their fifth consecutive win against them at home.
The big win by FSU gives it another Top-50 NET win as it continues to put itself in prime position for an NCAA Tournament berth.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Paced by an NCAA automatic time, two top eight finishes and a school record, the No. 15 Florida State swimming and diving team concluded the 2021 ACC Championships on Saturday night at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
The Seminoles outscored No. 18 North Carolina (729) on the final day in order to finish in fifth place with a total of 740 points, in one of the most competitive championships in league history.
“On paper, we couldn’t catch North Carolina,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “But the guys dug deep and really killed it. It was truly an amazing last night.”
FSU earned its third NCAA automatic relay bid of the meet (200 MR, 200 FR), touching with a time of 2:50.74 in the 400 free relay behind the team of sophomore Peter Varjasi, freshman Mason Herbet along with juniors Jakub Ksiazek and Max McCusker.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) - No. 11 Florida State fell short to North Carolina in a hard-fought game, losing 78-70 at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill.
Redshirt junior RaiQuan Gray scored in double figures for the tenth consecutive game with a team-high 17 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. Gray was just two rebounds shy from his fourth career double-double.
Florida State is now 14-4 overall and 10-3 in ACC play. North Carolina is 15-7 overall and 9-5 in the ACC.
Freshman Scottie Barnes scored 12 points for the Seminoles and had a career high seven rebounds. Barnes had a career-high and team-high six steals, playing a huge defensive role against the Tar Heels.
Redshirt junior Anthony Polite also scored in double figures with 10 points. With two triples, Polite has made at least one 3-point field goal in each of the 14 games he has played in this season. He is shooting a career-high .463 from the 3-point line on the season.

Florida State was projected eighth in the ACC preseason coaches’ poll but is currently sixth in the conference standings. Wake Forest was picked 12th and is currently eighth in the league. A win by FSU on Sunday that could vault them up to the No. 4 seed would likely mean that the Seminoles moved up the highest based on preseason expectations of any team in the leagu

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The third-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (2-0) started the season off with a bang as they earned a 5-0 sweep of Southern Miss and a 4-1 win over No. 8 Loyola Marymount Saturday afternoon.
Florida State started the day off with an easy win over Southern Miss, 5-0. FSU won all five matches in straight sets. The Seminoles fourth and fifth pairs started the afternoon winning both matches, giving the Noles a 2-0 lead. Both pairs jumped out to early leads in the first sets and held on to them. Avery Poppinga and Kate Privett gabbed the first set on court five 21-10. They jumped out to a quick 12-3 lead in the second set and turned that into a 21-6 win, giving FSU a 1-0 lead.
