March 10, 2021 Wildschutt Captures Second ACC Honor TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State junior Adriaan Wildschutt was recognized as the ACC Performer of the Week for the second time this season, following his performance at the FSU Last Chance Meet on March 5. Wildschutt won the men’s 8K with a time of 23:30.8, which was 16 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. His performance was also the eighth fastest in Apalachee Regional Park history. “Adriaan had an incredible first season as a Seminole,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “He’s been the class of the ACC all season. This is a well-deserved honor.”

March 10, 2021 Nine Noles Headed to NCAA Championships TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  –   The No. 15 Florida State men’s swimming and diving team qualified nine student-athletes and five relays for the 2021 NCAA Championships from March 24-27 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. FSU will have 24 individual entries contested by one senior, two juniors, three sophomores and three freshmen. “We’re excited to have nine individuals qualify,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “And with all of the relays, that’s a new high since I’ve been at FSU. We’re very delighted to have so many opportunities to score points.” Since the NCAA switched the selection process for the 2013 meet, nine Seminoles selected for individual events is the highest.  FSU will also bring two relay swimmers, marking the largest squad to compete at NCAAs since 2009 at 11.

Softball Welcomes No 2 Arizona to Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. The No. 16 Florida State softball team (11-4) host No. 2 Arizona for a three-game series this weekend (March 11-13) at JoAnne Graf Field. All three games are at 6:00 pm. The Seminoles enter the week after splitting two games with No. 5 Florida. FSU defeated the Gators at home on Saturday, 5-2. FLORIDA STATE VS. ARIZONA Florida State and Arizona have met 15 times. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 12-3. The two teams last met in 2019 in Arizona and Florida State took the series with two wins. The Seminole offense has scored 75 runs in the first 15 games of the season. This has come as the Seminoles have put together 29 total extra-base hits, including 11 home runs and 18 doubles. Elizabeth Mason is leading the way with four home runs of her own to go with five doubles. Florida State is splitting the time in the circle evenly amongst their top three pitchers. ⚾: Grady Shines But FSU Drops Series Finale

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State (4-5, 2-4 ACC) got a strong start from pitcher Conor Grady, but the Seminoles could not find the clutch hit late as they fell to No. 16 Virginia (6-5, 2-4) 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Dick Howser Stadium. Grady (1-1) and reliever Wyatt Crowell combined to retire the final 19 Cavalier hitters. Brendan Rivoli had both of Virginia’s RBI Sunday, with a bloop double in the first inning that scored Nic Kent and a single in the third that scored Max Cotier. The Seminoles did not allow another baserunner, with Grady retiring 13 straight and Crowell pitching a perfect eighth and ninth inning. The two combined for 13 strikeouts and did not walk a batter.

Hamilton Named Semifinalist For National Coach Of The Year Award

(seminoles.com) – Leonard Hamilton, who has led the Florida State Basketball Team to a second place finish in the ACC standings, has been named as a semifinalist for the Werner Ladder National Coach of the Year award.  Hamilton is one of ten semifinalists for the National Coach of the Year award and the only coach on the semifinal list from the ACC. For Florida State, the second place finish in the ACC standings and No. 2 overall seed in 2021 marks the third consecutive year and fourth time in the last five seasons that it has earned a double bye in the ACC Tournament.   In recent years, the Seminoles have been seeded second (in 2017), fourth (in 2019), first (in 2020) and second (2021).
