Norrman and the Noles Make Gains at Cabo

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Graduate transfer Vincent Norrman shot the low round of the day and is at the top of the player leaderboard as the Florida State Men’s Golf team moved up to second place after the second round of the Cabo Collegiate at TPC San Antonio. The third-ranked Seminoles shot 1-under overall as a team on Tuesday afternoon and are a combined 9-over (298-287) after the second day of play. The Noles have jumped ahead of No. 10 Texas (+20) and No. 19 Texas A&M (+10) for second place. They only trail No. 1 Oklahoma by three strokes going into the final round of the tournament.

March 3, 2021 Three Noles Headed to NCAA Championships TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  –  Three members of the RV Florida State women’s swimming and diving team will return to the Greensboro Aquatic Center to compete at the 2021 NCAA Championships from March 17-20 Senior Emma Terebo will swim at her third overall NCAAs after competing at the 2018 and 2019 meets as a relay swimmer, while freshman Jenny Halden and sophomore Tania Quaglieri will race at their first. Terebo qualified for the NCAA meet in the 100 back, after posting a 53.01 for ninth place at the ACC Championships. The Noumea, New Caledonia, native, also swam provisional times in the 50 free (22.64) and 100 free (49.43) at ACCs and has the option to compete in those races at NCAAs.

March 1, 2021 Florida State Extends Hamilton’s Contract TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) Florida State University Vice President and Director of Athletics David Coburn announced today that Florida State has extended the contract with head basketball coach Leonard Hamilton through the 2024-25 season. “Coach Hamilton has done so much for this basketball program and this university that it is hard to express in words,” said Coburn.  “What he does with his young men, both on and off the court, is truly remarkable.  I know both the President and I regard him as a university treasure, and he is just now getting the national recognition he has deserved for so long.  He embodies all the qualities that make a great leader, and we are proud and thrilled to have him as our coach as long as he wishes.”

ACC Champs!!!

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Florida State track and field team competed in the third and final day of the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship. The women put on an impressive display to claim the ACC crown by scoring an amazing 95 points on the final day to jump and take first place. The men’s team claimed third place behind Virginia Tech and the University of North Carolina. Florida State captured its fourth ACC women’s indoor championship, all of which have come under current head coach Bob Braman since 2009. The Seminoles have placed first in the last three women’s championships held at Clemson – 2014, 2018 and this season – and their four total ACC titles rank third in league history.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State (2-3, 0-2 ACC) fell for the second straight game to Pitt (5-1, 2-0), dropping Saturday’s game at Dick Howser Stadium 7-2 in front of 1,605. Pitt’s Matt Gilbertson (2-0) struck out 10 batters in six innings, and the Panther bullpen struck out six over the final three frames.
