May 27, 2021 Record Number Of Seminoles Wrap Up NCAA Championship Individual Play
Tallahassee, FL – Florida State sent four student-athletes to the NCAA Individual Championships, the most in program history, and also set the program record for the number of All-America honors secured with three. Giulia Pairone was seeded in the NCAA Tournament Singes Championship and joined in singles competition by Emmanuelle Salas. Nandini Das and Andrea Garcia competed in the NCAA Doubles Championships.
Garcia and Das advanced to the quarterfinals as one of eight doubles pairs remaining in title contention equaling the furthest any FSU doubles team has advanced in the NCAA Tournament in program history. The only other pair of Seminoles to advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals previously were Audra Brannon and Laura Randmaa in 1993.
Tallahassee, FL – For the third time under head coach Jen Hyde and the second time in the last three NCAA Tournaments, the FSU Women’s Tennis team is headed to the Round of 16. Florida State started strong and then had to fend off a late push by No. 19 Auburn before taking the match 4-1 to move on to Lake Nona with a trip to the quarterfinals up next.
“That was an absolute battle, which is what we expected,” said Hyde. “It didn’t disappoint. I think today we got tougher and we were forced to get tougher by Auburn. They did a fantastic job. They fought so hard but at the end of the day, we fought a little harder at a couple of spots and were able to hang in there a little bit longer in some of the matches. We came up big in a couple different tiebreakers and in doubles. We overcame some deficits and fought our way back in.
April 29, 2021 Pairone And Salas Selected To All-ACC Team
Tallahassee, FL – Florida State senior Giulia Pairone has been named to the All-ACC Women’s Tennis First Team and junior Emmanuelle Salas to the third team by a vote of the league coaches. This is the second All-ACC honor for Salas and Pairone has now earned all-conference first team honors in three different power five conferences.
Pairone, who is currently ranked 11
th in the ITA singles rankings, has been named first team All-SEC (2018), first team All-Big Ten (2019) and now first team All-ACC (2021). She is just the second Seminole ever to be named All-ACC First Team since the conference moved to more than one All-ACC team in 2014. The Turin, Italy native has been ranked in the top 10 by the ITA for most of the 2021 season. Pairone has eight of the team’s 14 ranked wins in singles playing on court one in every match but one, which she missed with an injury.

The Hurricanes’ hopes of an Atlantic Coast Conference women’s tennis championship ended with a 4-3 team loss to Georgia Tech Saturday. But before its tournament ended in Rome, Ga., Miami earned a couple of victories, including one over rival Florida State just two weeks after falling to the Seminoles in the regular season.
No. 24 UM (14-8, 8-5 ACC) now awaits its NCAA Tournament fate, with selections announced May 3.
Miami’s 4-1 win over FSU will certainly help its case in the committee’s eyes. After dropping a 4-3 heartbreaker at the ‘Noles on April 9 that was decided by a single match’s tiebreaker, the Hurricanes wasted little time securing the doubles point. The match, held at Georgia Tech, then proceeded into singles, where UM picked up right where they left off in doubles. FSU’s sole highligh
