TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Madelyne Anderson of the Beach Volleyball team, and football’s Jordan Travis were named as the Florida State Athletes of the Year at the 29th Annual Golden Nole Awards celebration at the Ruby Diamond Auditorium on the Florida State campus. Anderson, a redshirt junior, has led the Seminoles to a No 4 national ranking this season and was named a First Team All-American in leading Florida State to the national finals in 2022. Travis, a redshirt senior, earned Second Team All-ACC Honors in leading the Seminoles to a 10-3 record and a victory in in the Cheez-It Bowl over Oklahoma during the 2022 season. The event, which is sponsored by Florida State’s Student-Athlete Development Office, has recognized those Seminoles who excel as members of the community and who have committed themselves to taking leadership roles on and off of their playing fields and courts. GREENSBORO, N.C. –Florida State student-athletes Maddie Anderson, Nick Mason, and Kaley Mudge were named by the Atlantic Coast Conference as 2023 Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford Postgraduate Scholar Award recipients. Vic Allen was selected as an honorary scholarship nominee. Anderson (beach volleyball), Mason (men’s swimming and diving), Mudge (softball), and Allen (women’s tennis) were chosen based on performance in the classroom and in their respective sport while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community.

He read it cover to cover and still uses many of the lessons he learned from that book as he approaches his sophomore season as a member of the Florida State Basketball Team. “The most important thing I learned from studying the book was that being a leader isn’t only about the people you’re leading; it’s about you and your own ability to be a leader. The event highlights the contributions made in the community and recognizes student-athletes that have been exceptional leaders in and out of the athletics arena. “It was a perfect night to celebrate our student-athletes,” FSU director of student-athlete development and events said. “We haven’t been able to gather like this in years and to be back together in this setting is incredible.
