Hingham High athletics puts a cap on a strong season

Harbormen found a way to make the spring season feel as normal as possible Wicked Local If there’s anyone who deserves a pat on the back and a little time to rest, relax and re-charge right now it’s your local high school athletic director. Things have been different this school year, in some cases very different, but the AD’s were the steady hand that navigated coaches and players alike through four seasons of athletics. While the spring season looked almost normal with masks off for the most part and fans back in the stands, still fresh in everyone’s minds were the times of the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic when volleyballs were changed out and sanitized after every rally, when everyone wore a mask and when heading a soccer ball was strictly forbidden, going against every instinct a player has had ingrained in their heads since they played in Tiny Tots.

Weymouth High Wildcats has rallying spirit

Weymouth High Wildcats has rallying spirit By Mark Ducharme Correspondent  The Weymouth High girls lacrosse team under their new coach Kathleen Riley, will take things one step at a time because the Wildcats will be one of the youngest teams in the Bay State Conference. Weymouth has no seniors on the team and it’s learning to play together as a unit that includes six juniors while the rest of the team is sophomores and freshmen. This challenge was evident during the Wildcats 13-12 win at home against Brookline.  Weymouth trailed for most of the game, but the players rallied with five fourth-period goals including the game-winner with 30 seconds left by Cam Flaherty.
