If there’s anyone who deserves a pat on the back and a little time to rest, relax and re-charge right now it’s your local high school athletic director. Things have been different this school year, in some cases very different, but the AD’s were the steady hand that navigated coaches and players alike through four seasons of athletics.
While the spring season looked almost normal with masks off for the most part and fans back in the stands, still fresh in everyone’s minds were the times of the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic when volleyballs were changed out and sanitized after every rally, when everyone wore a mask and when heading a soccer ball was strictly forbidden, going against every instinct a player has had ingrained in their heads since they played in Tiny Tots.
